Jay and his team really live up the company name, OHANA, which means family in Hawaiian. One meeting with Jay and you'll see what I mean. He's very easy to talk to and that really goes a long way when you're asking a bunch of movers to go thru your house and handle all of your personal belongings. I cannot recommend this moving company highly enough. Jay, the owner of this family business. is highly professional, very conscientious and pays attention to every detail. Upon meeting him the first time, it was evident that his was the moving company that we wanted. We asked him to move us across country from FL to CA. Though he typically does not move west of Texas, he told us that he would see what he could do. It took us a couple of years (and a first contract on our house that fell through) to finally make the move. The first time, Jay's brother, Cody and another young man moved some items to a small storage unit so that we could de-clutter and stage our house. A year and a half later, when we actually sold our FL house, Jay came to our house and gave us an estimate for packing the breakable things, moving everything to storage in FL before our closing in CA and then moving all to CA. Of course the estimate was not inexpensive but very reasonable and fair, given that they had to rent 2 trucks, drive across country, return the trucks in CA and fly back to FL. Jay, his brother, Cody, and Larry packed our things extremely carefully, listening to which items we thought were particularly fragile and placed them in a storage unit for 8 days. Cody and Larry then drove the trucks to CA, arrived 4 days later and delivered them the next day. They carefully unloaded them, put the furniture together and placed it in our new condo. They were personable, upbeat and helpful. This business is one class act and if I could give it 10 stars, I would.”

Jay was wonderful to work with, very thoughtful about my needs and concerns, and extremely courteous. I've only hired 2 other moving companies in my life (before that I was young enough to move with a little help from friends), and those two previous experiences were about the same... movers who seemed to work hard but I still ended up with scratched and damaged items. Not on purpose, but not a huge amount of care given. Ohana was completely different! I only needed to move across town, and I'm at a point of my life where I have reasonably nice things, and I hoped to find a company that would provide an elevated moving experience. I interviewed several moving companies in the process. I met with Jay from Ohana who came out to look at my furniture to give me a quote, which no company has ever done previously. I immediately liked him, and when he told me that his company moves furniture not only for the Cummer Museum, but also for the Lighner Museum, I knew his company was right for me! His bid was ever so slightly more than others but only by $100 or so, but I didn't care about that small difference. When moving day arrived, Ben and his crew were very communicative, and super polite. They got right to work, and had everything packed and the truck loaded in a few hours. Ohana was even flexible enough to stop and pick up some furniture I purchased between packing the truck and unloading in my new home. They took extreme care in wrapping every piece of furniture, including a couple of irreplaceable family heirloom wall clocks from my grandparents (priceless to me). They were so careful in the loading and unloading process (and they had to carry everything up stairs to my new 3rd floor condo during unload). They never complained! And stayed so pleasant and personable during the entire process. Even when it started raining during unload, they made the necessary adjustments. They worked almost 10 hours non stop! and when I started in packing, I never found even a scratch on any of my furniture, and it took me almost an hour to unpack each of my heirloom wall clocks (because they had packed them so thoroughly!). I HIGHLY recommend Ohana, you will not be disappointed!”
