Few minutes late It was warm out but not overly warm. If they would all of worked as hard as the two older ones they would have been over the top great. They too the time to hook up my washer and made sure a bed was ready for bedtime. Amazing how much they could manually move with moving straps. My biggest concern was my estimate was not near what was quoted in defense of the movers uhaul subbed a 26’ truck for a 20’ truck so had to make 2 trips. I think they should ask more questions on the form that estimates your time needed. Mine was set up for 4 hours and took an additional 4”

And they did not check the drawers to be sure all were empty. Communication between them was lacking as some things were loaded that I told one of them was not to be. All in all I was just happy that everything was loaded and fit.”

I had 3 men come on 7/3/14 to move what I had been told on the phone would take approximately 5 hours. They arrived on time at 9 and at 3 they were done unloading the first load. I noticed at the new address that they had not loaded the truck full and could have put many more boxes inside. We told them what specifically to take on the next load (all of the big, heavy things). At 6:45, we had to make a management decision and that was to let them go. They gave me the bill which was $990 and I did not know what to do except to pay it. I was outraged. They broke the headboard on my bed, scratched my new wood floors, marked up a door and never once told me that they were sorry. The next day, I noticed that they had not moved a bronze statue which was very heavy. Luckily, I had a friend who had a flatbed trailer and also a cargo trailer. It took him 4 loads to finish moving me. A girlfriend had helped me take 5 loads in her SUV before the date of the move. Their problem was that they did not know how to load a truck correctly so that it would be efficient. They had muscles but that is not good enough in this business. Especially toward the end of the day, they got sloppy with laying down protective layers on wooden floors and doors. It was not done.”

Damaged furniture! Also note: The one person that wrote a 5 star review has the same last name as the owner .. hmm.... My experience: When I spoke to ken schonher (the owner), I specifically asked him if he was insured as that was the only reason I was hiring movers. I had a very expense new set of furniture that was pretty heavy. I asked that if anything happened to it, if it would be covered. He assured me it would. Mind you I am a healthy and fit 40 year old male and I paid movers mostly for the peace of mind as I didn't want my friends damaging anything. Long story short- they scratched my white lacquer dresser (this is a $2000+ piece) They also broke a cheap kids' dresser (not a big deal but still broke it and blamed it on the poor quality) After harassing these folks, Ken finally agree to get a furniture repair person out. That person arrived and used touch up paint that didn't match. He said he'd have to talk to Ken about next steps to fix it proper. - no further action. Ken didn't do anything, ignored my calls and emails and left his poor phone scheduling assistant in the middle deflecting my requests. Also, when Ken came out and estimated everything (including the garage). When the movers came, they didn't have time or the space for the garage items. Ken mentioned to me that he hadn't quoted and planned for the garage (really?) I am not happy with these folks. I am normally a subtle non-angry harassing type of person and I did my best to treat Ken with kindness and respect until he started giving me the treatment. If you think you are covered and this company will take care of you, don't assume that since he's insured that he will use that insurance.”

This is an excellent moving company. The crew showed up 15-20 minutes before the scheduled time, and they were organized and ready to go to work. They worked hard and moved quickly. The workers carefully moved furniture around obstacles and through doorways without making scratches on the door frames or the furniture. I called the owner (I assume) to ask what was happening and he claimed that his movers had a "flat tire" but were in North Omaha so it would be "a while" before they could get here. FORTY FIVE minutes after their scheduled time, we told them not to bother. Unacceptable. Poor communication and attributing to a huge inconvenience on our end makes for bad business.”

We hired Moving Made Smooth for our full house move. We had a team of three show up to move 4 bedroom house. After working slowly for 4 hours they alerted us that they had another job to get to and were not told they were going to be loading two uhauls so the manager was going to try and get a second team out. I explained that I did not know what difference it made how many trucks because it was clearly communicated that we were a 4 bedroom house. At the conclusion of 4 hours there was still large furniture and several boxes in the house. The team of 2 did show up after the team of 3 left, upon arrival they began working and loading the remaining furniture. After working for about an hour they alerted us that they would not be able to fit everything in the second moving truck. While I understand this can happen I would have expected to know sooner than just before they were going to call it a day. Either groups of movers should have been able to let me know well in advance that a larger second truck was needed. This created a huge headache and large amount of stress, there was nothing smooth about this. In addition we found a large scratch on our wood floors, I called the main line and was told the owner Ken would be in touch and no one contacted me. The movers onsite took a picture and said they could not confirm that they caused it, even though it was right in a location of heavy traffic for the movers. This company was also hired to move us into the new home. They arrived to unload on time and were onsite for an hour however I was billed for two hours. At this point I just wanted them out of my house and to be done with them so I didn't fight it. I would NOT recommend their services to anyone, there was nothing pleasant about our experience. From the length of time it took to load vans, to the floor scratch, to the overbilling, and not to mention he headache of having to move furniture on my own because their team did not alert me to needing a larger truck until it was too late.”

We have used Moving Made Smooth 3 times over the past 4 years for various members of our family. Andrew and his crew are absolutely incredible. They were on time at 0830 and quickly assessed the job, padding floors and doorways to prevent damage. The move out went quickly and uneventfully. They followed me to our new house and covered all floors and doorways with pads. They were efficient, friendly and incredibly careful with our furniture. We were completely moved in by 3 PM without a single scratch, rub on the wall or anything else. The guys allowed me to help them which made the job go even quicker. I have recommended them many times and will continue to do so. Hint to homeowners for an easy move: do your packing ahead of time and have boxes stacked near the door AND buy lunch for the guys so they can eat between load in and load out. They were very polite and grateful for that (and the tip). Overall, a great experience!”

They broke my fridge(took the door off,then couldn't get it rewired when he decided not to continue), causing us to have to return to Lincoln this week to get the fridge repaired. The primary reason for us to hire movers was to move the fridge. Otherwise, we could have loaded the truck ourselves. Owner offered to reimburse, but at this point, short of reimbursing us for the entire move, it probably won't be enough. I think we may have invalidated the refrigerator warranty...as the Samsung technician will obviously ask why we screwed around with the wiring. Now, we have a broke refrigerator that has to be repaired if we want to sell the house. We rented a 20 foot Uhaul which is rated for up to a 3 br apt. We sold nearly all of our furniture so all they had to move were boxes, a bbq grill, picnic table......but they filled the truck up, and now we have to rent another truck to get the rest of our stuff moved. Your mileage may vary.”
