Since 1919, Mooney’s Moving & Storage has provided local and long distance moving services to the Greater Philadelphia Region. Our full-time employees work exclusively for Mooney’s. We do not use sub-contractors or day laborers. Our experienced staff is comprised of nearly 20 employees, many of whom have worked for us for more than a decade. We have been family-owned and operated for four generations. When you hire Mooney’s for your move, you deal directly with Steve or Mike through the entire process, from your in-home moving estimate until your moving day. We used Mooney's to move 3 years ago and I can't believe they have the score that they have. I love the positive reviews followed up by the owner's responses clearly written by the same person... basically this guy is stroking himself. The guy who came out to do our estimate was friendly and clean cut, but when the time came to move, the movers were uncouth and unprofessional. They took 3 breaks in the first 4 hours and even had the nerve to ask us, "Where a good place to grab a hoagie [was]" in the middle of the job. Big surprise, they wound up taking 2 hours longer than estimated and destroyed an antique roll-top desk, for which we were only compensated $200. This didn't even offset the extraneous time they took to eat lunch not once, not twice, but thrice. We instructed them repeatedly not to lift the desk from the midsection as the top and bottom were only attached by a few screws. They chose to lift it the wrong way anyway, and it crumbled to bits before our eyes. That desk had a lot of sentimental value for me and now all we have are photos. The movers repeatedly asked us if they could "have" items that belonged to us. We acquiesced in some cases because we wanted to get the job done as quickly as possible, and we had no use for those items and could not sell them in the weeks leading up to the move. However, in the cases where we told them, "No," they decided to steal the items we did not wish to part with. This is not a moving company, it is a racketeering enterprise.”

I had a surprisingly good experience with Mooney's. It was snowing hard the morning of the move which was slowly accumulating but they still showed up. They came in and wrapped all of the large items which a competitor of theirs in the area did not do when I moved in to the last place. Despite the harsh weather, they were gentle loading and unloading the items. There were no scratches or dings which was another plus their competitor was not able to pull off. While speaking to one of the movers he told me he's been doing this since 1977 and missed it while he took a break. So there you go... no amateurs at the helm.”

The sales representative are very nice but let that not fool you. We paid deposit of 500 dollars for a pickup, they did not show up. Called several times with no pickup. It is a scam. Customer service was very rude , trying to get our deposit. Please save yourself the stress.Called several times to get our money back for a contract that they did not honor and they refused to give us a sufficient Answer.
