We have used ML Movers twice before and had a great experience. Unfortunately my latest move was very disappointing:1. They dinged furniture and refused to honor their insurance clause2. The packing was extremely sloppy which resulted in damages3. They scratched the hardwood floors in our new home (in front of my eyes) and proceeded to do it again, by not ensuring furniture had blankets underneath. To make matters worse the mover argued with me saying the scratch was already there.4. He charged by Credit card without showing me the invoice, taking away the opportunity to pay by cash.For some furniture Miguel pointed out because we had moved them to PODS (3rd party company) he can not take responsibility. But refused to address damage clearly caused by his team.Very disappointing. Be sure to clarify insurance with ML before engaging

Scheduled a move with ML movers over the phone for a move this past weekend during which we agreed on a time (Sunday morning @ 10AM) and details of the move. I called back Friday, Saturday, and the morning of the move on Sunday to nobody picking up and ended up having to find a different moving company the day of the scheduled move. The other moving company was cheaper and sent more movers than I was quoted from ML Movers.

Do not engage with this company. I requested a quote and they were first to respond, but then sent a unnecessarily long and detailed contract that requires some time to respond. After sending it late in the evening, they called at 8:00am the next morning as I was dialing into an important call for work. I asked if they can call later today because it was not a good time. It was a perfectly cordial discussion...and then I received this response. Moving Confirmation Updated has been voided for the following reason:This customer is rude on the phone & we don't want to deal with rude customer!I find this to be incredibly unprofessional, laughable and need I say RUDE. I hope you have a terrible day and continues to lose business!

Overall the move was successful and the movers great, but make sure you check the fine print both in the beginning and end of the move. I give them top marks for scheduling and overall professionalism of the movers, but my major gripe is the way they structure the hourly rates. It does state that credit cards are 5% more within the fine print, but really nothing is actually the rate they state since cash is less and check actually 3% more. I feel I'm not the first to be confused by this so be sure to understand what you use to pay will impact the hourly cost (which is fair, but not clear).Be sure to check the final invoice too. I know you're tired and want to start officially moving in, but I would recommend checking over the materials charges. They use the worlds most expensive wrap and boxes, and quite a few extra boxes made their way into the final total.

They moved my five bedroom house from Portola Valley to Los Altos Hills Ca. At first i was scared to have my stuff moved by strangers, but still looked for a moving company. I didn’t know what to choose at first. So many different prices and many had good reviews. One company caught my eye it was Ml Movers they have more than 100 reviews most are 5 stars. I was like wow i have to choose them. I called Lina answer she was nice and respectful. She explained to me the hourly rate and flat rate. I asked which one do you recomened me she said "the flate rate because at first it looks expensive but you have to remember that in the hourly rate you pay for material, number of hours. After my move i add up the 15 hrs that the movers worked on my move and looked at how much material they had wasted. I saved atleast $1,000 on my move with the flate rate. I really recommened This company to everyone!

So disappointed. The movers themselves were so-so. My main issue is that after notifying the main office of my concerns the customer service was terrible and I was not compensated for the inaccurate charges.A word to the wise -- their flat rate option may be the better choice if you must go with this company. For the hourly Mon-Thurs rate, it is $89, plus $30 per roll of plastic plus i think $3 per roll of tape. They use their tape, plastic, and time liberally, as it’s all on your dime, or Benjamin. I have used professional movers on at least four other occasions. I have always been amazed at the speed to which most movers operate, despite being paid by the hour. (See my review of Corrib Movers) These movers were very different. They were unusually slow throughout the process. Scheduled for 8am, they arrived at 8:30am. Not a problem, except that they billed me as though they arrived at 8am, so I paid an extra $45. Ultimately they took 6 hours to do what the last movers took four hours to do. When the movers arrived they forgot the metal brackets that go inside the wardrobe boxes. Obviously that is an essential part of the wardrobe box. After debating for awhile what they should do they decided to break off pieces of nearby tree limbs to serve as a substitute. They then wrapped the tree limbs several times in the plastic covering and used ample tape to secure it. In all honesty -- this was a creative solution that worked quite well. If only I wasn’t charged for their time and their supplies to make that happen.When it came time for the "bill" at the end of the unloading, the lead guy had scribbled down the numbers on the back of a piece of torn cardboard box. I did not receive any sort of printed or official bill. I was concerned and expressed surprise at the price, but figured I would/should address my concerns to the main office.I called the main office today. I spoke with Elias the office manager. I was completely shocked by the terrible customer service. Initially he said because I did not document my concerns on a piece of paper the movers had me sign the insurance would not cover any losses that were now claimed. Eventually I got a copy of this form -- the form clearly states to declare Damages, and, if everything went well, to give my feedback. The bottom of the form says if there are any questions or concerns to contact the main office. That is exactly what I did.Then I was told that it was strange that I waited ten days to contact the office. (Not unusual to me for any move, let alone a move the week before Christmas) Overall -- I was charged for 30 minutes of service that never happened, I was charged the hourly rate while the workers tried to figure out how to fix their mistake with the wardrobe boxes, I was charged for the supplies for them to wrap the tree limbs they used. I suppose I could get over the disappointment of it taking six hours to do what the last movers did in 4 hours, but I cannot accept the fact that I was charged for work that was not done and was charged for work they did while fixing and dealing with their own mistake. Elias the office manager then assured me there was no one else I could speak to, that he was the office manager. He offered me $50 in a check and told me the employees would likely be terminated. (I don’t want them to get fired, I can understand their mistakes, I simply want the company to NOT charge me for their own mistakes.) After they finally sent me an invoice (today, after I called) I replied with an email expressing my concerns about my move. Elias called me back and said he did not understand the point of my email and that the funny part was that I had said $50 was better then nothing, and now I was seemingly asking for more, which he didn’t understand. He then, again, chastised me for not documenting on this form my concerns, and for waiting 10 days to call to complain about it. My lesson learned -- never hire ML movers again.

From the moment I requested a quote for our job, Miguel and his crew provided nothing but first-class service – I'd absolutely recommend them to any/everyone with an upcoming Bay Area move! As I mentioned, Miguel not only responded promptly when I reached out for a quote but he also offered some of the best rates around. Once the contract was signed, he provided a window during which Michael and his team would arrive and they were right on-time, calling to confirm everything beforehand. Once they arrived, Michael and team quickly got to work on the apartment; at each step of the way, the guys from ML Movers were thorough, thoughtful, and careful to ensure our belongings and our homes were being treated with the utmost care. Due to some issues with tricky furniture that needed to be disassembled in order to get out the door (not ML’s fault whatsoever), after nearly eight hours of work, Michael and team eventually finished packing up our SF apartment - they still had a drive to Marin and a tough involving a steep driveway and lots of steps ahead of them. At Michael’s suggestion, we decided to store the furniture in the truck overnight and complete the move in the morning. As I’d come to expect, Michael showed up on-time the next morning with the same crew and immediately got to work. Unable to back their truck up a steep driveway, the team from ML had to lug each and every box and piece of furniture up a large slope, then up a flight of stairs, before navigating a tricky turn in the door. While this was something I even found daunting, Michael and his team dove right in. The unpacking went exactly as the packing had - methodical, thoughtful, and respectful of our furniture and new home. Within four hours, everything was in the new house, reassembled, and exactly where we wanted it to be. After cleaning up some stray pieces of tape and bubble wrap, Michael walked me through some paperwork, collected the money owed, and set off with his crew. Simply put, I cannot recommend this team more.

Excellent service, great experience. I scheduled a move for a start time of between 2-3:30 pm on a Friday. ML Movers showed up exactly at 2 pm and were ready to go. They were quick, professional, careful and friendly. I appreciated them wrapping my dresser and large picture to avoid damage and also wrapping my mattress to keep it clean. I highly recommend them. I was moving from the Bay Area to Nevada and ML Movers was one of the few highly rated movers on yelp that did out of state moves. I contacted them online, they responded promptly and were very clear about their rates and terms. The day before the move, they confirmed it and 3 movers arrived promptly at the designed time on moving day. They were fast, disassembling furniture and loading the moving truck with my prepacked boxes. They even kindly helped load some of the furniture I was giving away to a friend onto his truck. They finished loading in 2 hours. It was a 4-hour drive by car with little traffic but of course their moving truck took a little longer (5 1/2 hour drive for them, charge was for double drive time). Only took an hour to unload at my new place. They were polite, cheerful and friendly the whole time and careful with my stuff. Everything arrived intact. I’ve already recommended them to others who have move plans and would use them again if I was still in the Bay Area.

These guys were great. Showed up a few minutes early and were ready to work. very quick and efficient and open to late requests. I asked them the morning of to stop by a second location to pick up a table and they had no problems. they also brought extra boxes/packing materials and didn’t charge me any extra. The move took an hour more than I expected BUT I don’t feel they wasted time or took advantage. Just be prepared for it to take time. my one-bedroom took 5 hours with an hour commute between locations. it was a little pricey but imo still worth it. They also worked hard to schedule my move which was very short notice and had to be on a weekend which I assume are their busy days. tldr: a little expensive but worth it as they were very prompt and easy to work with!

Miguel is very easy to communicate with and schedule with. Movers showed up right in time, were super professional and accommodating. Worked nonstop and didn’t even take a break (which they are owed actually). Did their very best and respected our request for no shoes in nursery of our new place, even though they had to move in a bookshelf there. Only small hiccup was that they didn’t automatically refund the cc deposit, but this was immediately resolved after a phone call to Miguel. Have used them 2x over the years and would do so again. Same with several friends of mine.

Wow. Just wow. These guys are amazing! Cleaned out our 2br 2ba apartment in an hour and a half and was done with the whole move in 5 hours! The fastest move I’ve ever had. They had 4 guys and a huge truck. Everything fit in the truck so they only made one trip the entire move. They were professional, courteous and polite- a real pleasure to work with. They even had a sense of humor when carrying boxes up three flights of stairs. Honestly the best moving experience and will recommend to our friends.

In summary: I do not recommend ML Movers. There are a lot of options for professional movers out there (so keep looking). The good: I have had two positive experiences with ML movers. The movers were on time, experienced and fast! I have also recommended them to several others, all of which had positive experiences that deserve raving reviews. The bad: I have never worked so hard to move before. On my last move the team showed up 5 minutes late with a tiny 10 foot truck, took a look around our home and determined they didn’t have time to do the move. They then called their boss and asked us to talk to the business owner on the phone. We asked them to please proceed with the move because we had packed all of our belongings and paid for city parking permits to accommodate the moving truck (what’s the problem? I still don’t know). We were ready. The team didn’t wrap a single piece of furniture. They used brown packing tape to tape our glass tables that we still can’t get off. The move lasted twice as long as our other moves and to save time, my partner and I helped lift and haul the whole morning. When the team was done, they asked us to pay for the half hour of time they spent on the phone with their boss (no way!). The business owner then told me I have been "whining too much." This doesn’t fly with me or any other customer oriented business. Zero stars.

AVOID this company. They clearly state on their website they offer a 2-hour minimum service but when they send you the contract to sign, they change the small print to 4 hours minimum without telling you or making this clear. I believe its called "switch and bait marketing" and doubled the price of the work. I have tried several times to reason with Miguel but he refuses to acknowledge his unethical business practice. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

I’ve used ML Movers twice previously 10 years ago and had a flawless experience with them. So I expected everything to be smooth when I used them for a third time. The movers showed up on time, they were courteous and they were efficient in packing everything. So I will give them 1 extra star for that. But that’s where the positive aspect ends. When everything was brought over to our new place, I noticed some scratches on the corners of our bed as well on a expensive glass table top (See photos). I noted this to one of the team members, Juan and he told me to email the owner Miguel, which I promptly did. Then our real troubles began. Miguel emailed back and said he’d look into the paperwork but that’s the last I heard from him. I called him up three times subsequently over the next month and he said he’d look into it but no reply. The third time, he rudely told me not to call again and said he’d email by tomorrow and hung up. Of course, no email. I have always been professional in my interactions, never rude or threatening. Miguel has totally dropped the ball and is ignoring repeated calls and emails. Shocking lack of customer service for a repeat client trying honestly to resolve damage which they caused. I won’t be using them again.

Do not use these movers. I am due back $300 from a deposit to hold my moving date. I paid in cash, and it was supposed to be automatically refunded. It’s over a week since they said it would be and have ignored my calls, texts, and emails. Additionally, during the move there was a scratch that was made on the floor. I called the owner to discuss, and not only was he incredibly rude, but he said "my movers said they didnt do it, so I believe them that is all" and hung up. This was incredibly unprofessional. Beware!
