They moved a two bedroom apartment full of stuff out of a Senior Living Home, took some items to storage, some to my house, some to the dump and extra furniture from my house to the dump! It was three moves in one with reasonable rates and quality service. They wrapped the furniture well, taking extra care with a couple antique pieces. They worked nonstop, had the hassle of two sets of elevators, and didn't leave until everything was back together and in place. I would strongly recommend you do not use Mic's Moving. I used their services a few months ago to pack my things and load into pods which would be transported out of state and would stay in storage for a while. They were aware this. - To begin with, crew leader Omar tried to overcharge for time worked until I called him out on it. - When I checked after they had finished: They had stacked most of my furniture in the pods without covering - no moving blankets or wrapping. - The majority of stuff was just stuffed into garbage bags and thrown on top of the furniture. - Clothes (suits) were thrown on the couch, and other furniture stacked on top of them. When I called the company to tell them about this, they sent another crew to repack, and I had to pay a second time for this so they could fix the shoddy work the first crew did. I also had to buy boxes and moving blankets for them. I have now moved into my new place and unpacked. - Sure enough, furniture has been scratched and damaged from the way they were first stacked uncovered into the pods. - Instead of taking things out of garbage bags and repacking them in boxes, all the second crew did was take the bags and put them into boxes. - Bolts and screws from the bed were now placed with the bed frame, instead put into one of the ~20 boxes. So of course the unloading crew could not find them, and were unable to assemble the bed. -Painting was put in uncovered, so the frame is now damaged. - Shoes were stuffed uncovered in garbage bags, and are now damaged. Definitely a terrible experience, with an unprofessional company.”

They quoted us 5-8 hours based on the size of our townhouse. A couple of days before the move, Mic contacted me to confirm the move and to make sure we had no last-minute questions. I appreciated this touch. The day of the move, our moving team (Walter, Omar, Javon, Rasheed, and Angelli) arrived promptly and with friendly greetings. They got to work right away and moved efficiently and carefully. The whole team hustled and got everything broken down, wrapped up, and in the truck as quickly as they could. When it was time to unload at the new house, they put down blankets as we had requested to protect the carpets. They even took off their shoes to move a few items where the blankets didn't reach. Everything made it safely to NY, and we were pleased to see how protected some of our fragile items were when we opened the boxes. If you've ever been disappointed in your movers after opening up a box to see your fragile (and often valuable) possession left unprotected, you won't have to worry with Mic's. Our boxes had entire "walls" of crushed up packing paper that nestled and secured our delicate items. The second day, Walter, Pedro, and Eugene drove up to NY and unloaded everything. They placed each box in the room we wanted and reassembled the furniture. Everything went smoothly, and the guys were great during the entire process. If you're moving from DC to NY or elsewhere on the East Coast, use Mic's! We are so happy that we did.”

I can honestly say that Mic's Moving Company was the best choice my wife and I could have made when moving from our Silver Spring apartment to our house in Germantown. We had never used a moving company before, and we were really impressed with the affordability of Mic's, along with how responsive they were ahead of the move. Our moving day ended up being a very rainy day, and when the crew first arrived, we discovered that the 20 foot truck they provided had a leak in its roof and the entire interior was wet. The movers wasted no time requesting a new truck, and immediately got to work getting our things wrapped up and moved. Our replacement truck was a little smaller than the original truck we ordered, and Mic's provided an additional truck at no extra cost to us to make sure all of our belongings made it. The movers were astonishingly fast. The wrapped everything up, were extremely careful, and all of our belongings made it to the new house without any mishaps. The crew even went the extra mile and placed our large furniture at specific places in the house. They really worked hard, and they were extremely friendly and pleasant the entire time. I cannot recommend Mic's Moving more highly! I used Mic's Moving to move across town in DC back in June 2016, and then we used them again to move from DC to Chicago in February 2019. Both times the teams from Mic's were absolutely phenomenal. Our move in February got off to a rocky start with two broken elevators and a less than accommodating management office in our old building, but the guys from Mic's could not have been more calm and gracious about everything. They carried all our things down six flights of stairs and still honored the original quote (which, of course, included them being able to use an elevator!), and were incredibly good-natured about the whole thing. Every last item made it to Chicago safe and sound and in record time, and the move into our new building went extremely smoothly. My husband and I moved a couple hours away and Mic's was one of the few companies we found that would do a "mid-distance" move with JUST our stuff in a dedicated truck, same-day. Awesome. The team arrived on time, handled our belongings like pros, and were patient and calm (moreso than we were!) when we ran into the inevitable moving day issues with apartment management and the facility. Mike was the crew leader, and really knew his stuff. Once we arrived at our new townhouse, we had a few furniture pieces that I truly thought wouldn't make it upstairs. I was prepared to say "So long, king size headboard." But with some maneuvering that seemed to defy the laws of physics, the crew made it happen with a quarter of an inch to spare. My most recent experience, I moved into a space with a staircase that is a little narrow, has a turn, and has a light fixture hanging rather low. This was probably the easiest job that our three movers had in a month of moves, but their help was truly needed and appreciated by our group. Omar, Ryan, and Tye were friendly and fast. They knew that the boxes were filled only with books, but they were as careful with them as if they were filled with fragile things. I truly appreciated their speed, care, and attitude. The reason for four stars instead of 5 is because of a communication issue with the owner. Our original move date had to be changed due to an issue on his end. This would not have been a problem if there had been a better attempt to reach out to us. Instead, we found ourselves emailing and hoping for word while delaying other things that could have happened that day. I understand that the reason for the delay was out of their hands, but there should have been a better stream of communication for their other moves that day. We added an additional stop to pick up a living room set on the way to our forever home a two days before the move. They were flexible and accommodating to make this happen, even bringing a second truck to make sure everything fit. They were super fast with loading our things into the moving van, especially hard considering our move involved stairs, a courtyard, and more stairs to get to the van. I wasn't that organized due to hiring inexperienced day laborers to move my things into storage-- but Mic's knew just what to do to make the move go smoothly. I'll tell you I was a little worried without paperwork in place before the move and I suggest they add that to their process to protect the customer, as well as themselves but otherwise I'd say they were extremely professional. It was only a one-bedroom apartment local move, but I had 29 boxes of books and 4 large bookcases to get down narrow rowhouse stairs in the middle of a hot DC summer.
