Excellent service! I researched a lot of local movers before choosing McDowell’s. I was doing an out of state move from a storage unit in Ohio so I only needed movers to meet my truck once it arrived and unload it for me. After speaking with Jay I knew I made the right choice. He was very organized in coordinating everything and the price was very reasonable. I even called him a week before and asked if they could stop at my cottage 5 minutes away from the house I was moving in to so they could pick up some furniture I had delivered there and they said no problem. And when my moving date changed, Jay and his team returned my moving truck to Penske for me since the trucker who drove it up had to fly back to Ohio.They arrived early to do a walk through and once they saw everything they quickly and efficiently got to work. I was impressed they navigated my tricky driveway when they needed to move the truck for easier unloading. The driver who drove it from Ohio couldn’t even do that! I also appreciated they assembled my bed and installed my washer and dryer too. Highly recommended! A+++++ 5 star service”

Jay was very helpful in setting up his crew for me. I rented my own truck (for some cost savings that Jay recommended) and Greg and Charles met me at my place in Waynesville to load and then in Asheville to unload. They were very kind, friendly, and efficient. We did have a mishap with my couch and chair where the feaux leather got pretty badly damaged on the arms. I think if they had been covered in blankets and THEN wrapped (versus wrapped only) and not placed upside down on the truck that this wouldn't have happened. But, Jay made it right and provided money back to me for the damage. Good price for the crew and efficient. I would use them again.”
