We got started in 1999. We do over 1300 moves a year. We strive to keep our rates low and affordable. We are fully insured and regulated by the State of Nebraska. We specialize in local moves in Lincoln and the surrounding areas. We also have furniture pads that will keep your furniture protected. We are capable of moving one piece or an entire household.

I did not personally use them, but watched them verbally abuse a neighbor who did and then refuse to unpack the truck. They were screaming at the person, they were very aggressive, using profanity, and accusing them of not paying. The person was quoted one rate, then told to pay another. I was shocked at how the owner handled himself and surprised they remain in business Eventually, the police were called and facilitated the transaction, however they still were rude, even when the person was trying to pay them and had to call another crew to finish the job. Police advised to file complaints and post reviews and dispute any additional transactions that show up on their card. I would advise against using this company.”

TERRIBLE! I WILL SAY AGAIN, TERRIBLE! The owner was YELLING at me, belittling me, harassing me, would not communicate with me JUST YELLED ALL THE TIME!!! At one time, he even closed the truck and started the engine and engaged the truck as I was calling the police. The POLICE did get involved and I finally was able to get my belongings, only to have everything left on the front yard of my new location. The reason being, I would not pay his inflated price at the time of the job, when job was not even completed. He knows exactly how to take advantage of people and his legal limits. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this company any way. STAY AWAY! This is to WARN others even this website says I have to select at least one start. I really want to be giving NO STARS.”

5 stars Hi. This is Dave with Local Moves, I would like to address some of these negative remarks. The one from Sheila Ehrich and the one from Kristi Scott. This is mother and daughter. We were moving the mother and half way through the move we realized that we were going to have problems with this lady when it came time to get paid. So, we told here we wanted to get paid before we started to unload the truck. She said ok and we took the bill in and this is when she said we were trying to gouge her. It was the same rate that we quoted her. It was obvious that she did not have the money. So we closed the doors and went and sat in the truck, she called her daughter and the police. The police told her she had to pay so her daughter paid with a credit card. There was a lot of tension out there with the crew and her and her daughter. So, the police and Local Movers decided to have another crew come out and switch out and the parties wanted everything sat in the front yard. This is not the way we do things.This review she left on google, i guess it slipped her mind that she tipped the other crew $10 each. Local Movers was just watching out for themselves but people can go on the internet and totally slam a company when things don't go their way. If you look at 99% of these negative comments, they are attacking our character because they cannot attack our work ethics. We have been in business for over 20 years and we do a lot of repeat business and a lot of referrals. We are not like a lot of these other companies that are on social media. They go and pad their reviews.. More than often when something goes wrong, those people will go and slam you on social media and when things go right, those people the majority of the time do not leave any review. Local Movers must be doing something right because we have been in business for over 20 years and please 99.9% of our customers. There is always that 1% that you are never going to please no matter how hard you try.”

I am getting ready to move again after living at my current residence for several years and I am searching for moving companies online. I saw this company only has 2.9 stars so I decided to read their reviews and I was shocked because I had a negative experience as well. Without going into detail the owner of the company yelled at me and was saying other negative things on the phone after my move was complete when and I was questioning the amount I was being charged. It was very upsetting to say the least. He obviously has an anger problem and is likely bi-polar. I DO NOT recommend anyone to use this company and take the chance of having an encounter with the owner in person or on the phone despite their reasonable prices. Someone with such poor communication skills AND horrible customer service skills should not be in business.”

My family and I used Local Movers last week. I was extremely hesitate to use them after all the reviews I read. One of my co-workers recommended them after using them several times. Although extremely hesitate we decided to use them because they were far cheaper than all their competitors. I called and the owner was great and to the point. The day of the move the movers arrived and took my direction as they were moving things out and then took my wife's direction as they moved everything into our new house. They were professional, friendly, and efficient. The three guys had us moved out and in within four hours. Thank you Michael, Thomas, and Jeff for taking care of all our furniture and items. Our daughter hired Local Movers to move her studio apartment on the north side of town to an apartment on the south side of town. When she called she said the man who answered the phone was terribly rude and unprofessional. He basically told her that the cheapest would be 3 guys and a truck for $96/hour and it would probably only take them about 90 minutes. What he DIDN'T tell her and what I want to warn everyone is that the time starts when the leave their warehouse. On her receipt it says it took them 45 minutes to get from the warehouse to her apartment. However, we don't know where their warehouse is because the only address we can find is a PO Box number. This was at 7:45 AM on a Saturday morning -- heck, you can get to the outskirts of Omaha in 45 minutes. It only took them 30 minutes to load up her items but then they said it took another 40 minutes to get to her new apartment which usually takes us 15 minutes in normal traffic. When our daughter told us how much they charged compared to what she was told on the phone my husband called the company. I heard this conversation and my husband was not at all rude and just wanted to ask some questions about how they charge. Again, this terribly rude, unprofessional very angry man told him that our daughter was a liar and they did nothing wrong. I just want to warn people, don't use this company, yes, our daughter should have asked more questions, but I think this company takes advantage of people and customer service is not important to them. Do yourself a favor and look for another company, they might say they have the best rates, but looking at the big picture - they do not.”

If y’all ever wanna see one guy move the biggest desk ever then call them- I mean real wood, oversized executive desk that me and my boyfriend together can’t even push around. Gary is stronger than a bull and I’ll hire them again the next time I move. I see a lot about over charging but these were the fastest movers I’ve ever used and the price felt fair. They were polite enough to me so I can’t relate to the negative reviews like that either. They put all our stuff exactly where we wanted it, even the heaviest stuff up a narrow staircase. They did it all with no complaint.”
