Absolutely fantastic for long distance moves. I used them to move from North Carolina to California. I did all my own packing, then did all the heavy lifting and transporting. Nothing got broken, it all arrived in great condition. The crew was clean and worked extremely fast while also being very careful with my belongings. Their prices were extremely competitive, especially for the level of service. They even transported both of my cars in the same truck as all my stuff, which was fantastic. Delivery was exactly as scheduled. Literally, the driver said he would be to my house at 8 am for pickup and delivery. He showed up at 8:03 for pickup and 7:59 for delivery. You just can't get better than that. John's used ts Van lines for the actual transportation of my belongings. They were equally as great. I would happily use either company again and would recommend them to anyone planning a move. Moves are incredibly stressful and John's did everything they could to make it a pleasant experience for me.”

From the moment I first spoke with Tyeishia and met with Jamel, I knew I was in good hands. Tyeishia has the patience of a saint as she handled my worries and packing questions , over and over as sometimes my mind was too full to understand the first time..lol... Jamel was very thorough in all the details and was willing to negotiate to meet the terms of another moving company because we both knew John's Moving was the better fit. When the young men came on moving day, they were on time, so polite and friendly and very careful with our things. Both days the men worked hard and consistently, and very much appreciated our buying them wings for lunch 😉 A couple times they noticed us struggling with something and quickly offered help. When there was an accident with a couple pieces, they were quick to tell me what happened, even though it was no big deal (and I didn't even see it)....in other words, they were an honest bunch of guys that I hope I get when we move out of storage into our new home. Granted, there are a lot of choices in moving companies but we are so glad we went with John's and highly recommend them. This is our 6th move and I would say, so far, it's been the best.”

Don't hire John's. They came highly recommended to me. The scheduling of our move was top notch.That's it. The one star. If you don't like seeing your personal property thrown around, this isn't your crew. And when they present to you your broken property, they are flip about it. "Here's your broken bed frame, not sure how that happened." It's called carelessness and gravity. Not a hard concept. And I don't have time to get into how much haggling you'll do to get a claim reviewed and closed out. This was the biggest pain point. Our move was in December, our claim was closed out in late May”

I have been a resident of the Triangle for 26 years and have used John’s moving several times. In fact other members of my family have also used John’s with very favorable results. Our moves were both local as well as two moves between N.C. and S.C. My most recent experience using John’s was far from the norm and very disappointing. When Jamal visited us for the initial estimate, in conversation Jamal mentioned John K. Retired and Todd was now the owner. Todd apparently worked for John but I never met Todd and was not familiar with him as I had only dealt directly with John. In summary the crew was not prepared to handle the very heavy furniture we discussed at the initial meeting and a sofa was damaged. The crew was not intending to protect the floor at the stop where one delivery was scheduled. The crew developed an attitude after we insisted on protecting the newly installed carpet. The crew delivered the bulk of the furniture in the rain and marginally protected our property. From my experience, the new John’s Moving is certainly not the old John’s moving. The only saving grace to our poor experience was, Jill was pleasant to deal with, but at the same time, not too apologetic. The new John’s Moving pricing is also higher than the old John’s Moving pricing. For the owner’s reference, all of my paperwork says Steven Mack. The move started 5/22/18.”

The guys were took their time wrapping every piece of furniture so it would not get damaged in the truck, and were very careful when moving everything into the new house. The team that arrived were strong ( I have some very large heavy furniture) and able to determine the best angles and methods to move the furniture without damaging it or the walls or doors. I’ve had some horrible experiences moving this same furniture in the past that required cutting holes in the walls or movers that broke the doors or punched holes in the wall trying to move it. . So this isn’t easy furniture to move. They made it seem easy. They never complained about the heavy, odd shaped furniture Once. They were very polite and I highly recommend them.”

We had a rather complex move from a home into an apartment with most of our belongings going into storage for about two months followed by a move out of the apartment and storage and into our new home. It was actually four separate moves and we got to see many different people handling our belongings. Overall, we were very happy with the care that was taken to protect our stuff. Was it perfect? No. Did it meet our expectations? Absolutely! Every employee we dealt with was courteous and treated us with respect. All were friendly. Some got five stars for their ability to handle every situation perfectly. Others did acceptable work. That's normal. I used to manage 25 employees and the employee evaluations went from "Outstanding" to "Needs Improvement". But every employee added value to the department. And, as far as moving goes, I hate moving and would not have wanted to manage this move by myself. I was more than satisfied with every aspect of the move by John's Moving & Storage.”
