I am sorry to report that I am very disappointed with the performance I received from JK Moving. There was a disturbing lack of communication, failure to perform in a timely manner, and activities that left me unimpressed with the quality of employees and their work. Specifically, the customer care supervisor never responded to any voicemails or emails. The driver behaved very suspiciously, asking aggressively if various items were "mine" (fortunately, the inventory confirmed my claims). The delivery was delayed because the unloading crew never showed up and a replacement had to be found. It could have been worse, but it could have been SO much better.”

Watch out for their "Travel Fees"! They were very professional on the phone and explained everything. The movers showed up on time and did a great job packing us up and moving us. They protected both homes really well and got our furniture moved safely. When it came time to sign the bill, the lead mover on site gave us an invoice significantly higher than what the sales person told us it would be. Apparently they charge you for the travel time to and from their shop to your location. I was informed during bidding the move that this fee was from house 1 to house 2, not from the shop. I was charged both a travel fee for the movers to come from their shop plus the travel time from house 1 to house 2. It took weeks for them to finally respond that they didn't care that they misrepresented the travel time and I was out of luck. If I had known they were going to charge me this much, I would have used one of the other 3 movers that did NOT charge me for travel time from their shop.”

The team that was sent to load my belongings from a storage room to a moving van were professional, thorough and they always communicated how things were going and their timelines for completion. I wish I could give negative stars. This was the absolute worst move ever (and I have done 3 out-of-state moves). The lead mover was extremely unprofessional, refusing to tell me what what documents I was signing, degrading in his comments, and sloppy. The packing movers overstuffed boxes, despite telling them not to. I had storage containers and nostalgic/keepsake boxes that I asked them not to open. Instead, I move in to find that these boxes have been overstuffed with other items leading to breakage of these boxes and me not being able to find items after the move (example: I did not think that my work binder was going to be in my keepsake box from high school, causing me to tear the house apart for over an hour today). An art piece (picture with stones) was not wrapped and packed separately, but instead packed in a box with a ton of random items including snowglobes and statues, causing the resin on the piece of art to be dented everywhere and completely ruining the art piece. Then, I found drawers in the house that had been completely missed in the packing, even though I was assured that everything was packed and that I needed to "calm down" in a very placating and degrading manner. The worst is that an item was broken in the packing (a noise I quite clearly heard as it was dropped). Instead of the mover being honest about it, he wrapped it and didn't tell me about it. Snowglobes were ruined because the packing was poor and shoved in with other items. Sloppy and unprofessional job. The move in was just as bad. The "red carpet" move was very superficial - not covering any of the stairs in the house and only wrapping one side of the door frame on the first floor causing damage to the unwrapped side of the door when bringing in a large item. movers brought in three boxes at a time and then dropped them forcefully down on the floor, causing storage boxes and statues to break. I cannot understand why they did not just take in 1-2 boxes at a time and do the move in safely, with respect to my personal items. I had to ask for the bed in one room to be out together more than once as the mover clearly did not feel it was necessary to do it. This is just really the tip of the iceberg. If you are considering this moving company, please look elsewhere if you want your personal items to be taken care of and not damaged in the move.”

If JK Moving offered to move me for FREE I would DECLINE! Review is a tad late, but every time I come upon an area in our new home that was damaged by this company’s movers, I get angry. In 2016, I contracted with JK Moving to perform multiple MD moves and store as we waited for our custom home to be built in DE. The process took longer than expected, but I was assured my furniture and belongings were be stored in a safe and climate controlled warehouse; NOT. I was also assured that their movers were well-skilled; NOT. I experienced floor damage in the home that we had just sold that we had to arrange to have the new owners work with our floor installers to repair damage to “their” new home. Damage that could have been avoided had the movers been skilled in moving. We ultimately moved into our new home and experienced damage to our walls and hardwood flooring by the “skilled” movers. Our furniture joints and doors would not close from being stored in their “climate-controlled” warehouse. The furniture and mattresses reeked of a dank and damp odor, furniture was marked and scarred from the manner in which it was stored, my new refinished wrought iron furniture had be nested so when pulled apart marred the coating, custom table pad cut with a box cutter and I watched the “skilled” mover break off a prong while trying to install a table leaf. If they offered to move me again for FREE, I’d pass. A costly, bad choice using JK Moving.”

The customer service representatives - Wendy, Theodore, and Rina, were clear in their instructions and estimates, alerted us throughout the entire process of scheduling, pick-up, and delivery; they also made sure to specify the items being moved were delicate and needed extra care. I had requested 'white glove' service and they scheduled the best to help. I'd also like to make a special mention and extreme gratitude for Pirouz who ensured the packing, wrapping, transport, and unwrapping of our beloved items were all safe and given extra care. He and his support crew gave lots of 'TLC' with the items and even remembered which box contained parts for reassembly. Do NOT use this company! I would not want another family to have the experience we had with our recent move. We used this for a full house move and were quoted for EVERYTHING in our house as a “worst case scenario” because we explained that we would packing a lot of our things, and would be moving clothes, kids cribs, kids toys, etc to our temporary living arrangement while our house was finished. Two days before delivery, we were charged $3700 EXTRA with no explanation, just that the quote was off and more storage had to be used for our belongings. We called and called and was not able to speak to a supervisor (they were screening my husbands number) who explained that if we didn’t pay, we would not be receiving our delivery the next day. We explained that it is against the law to charge 125% over the original quote but Darla, our sales rep explained that this law in Maryland did not apply because we started the move in Virginia. Packers and movers were extremely nice and efficient and did a great job. It’s unfortunate that the company they work for is so bad. Absolute terrible customer service and a scam. Choose another company!”
