Jack Treier Moving & Storage Reviews

My family, well mainly my mother, had a multi dimensional move that consisted of several parts which we were breaking down into several different moves. The first part of her move, I was not involved in the decision making process with who we hired. This was a mistake! Thus, the first part of this move was a disaster, my mother did not know any better than to verify credentials, including licensing and insurance information before making a hire. From my experience with the Federal Highway Administration, I knew that Pennsylvania was a hot bed for rogue moving companies operating without a license or the appropriate state verified insurance requirements. My mother on the other hand, was unaware of what to look for an just hired who was the best sweet talker over the phone. She went with a group called "Maya's Movers" out of the York area. There was no home visit. Everything was done over the phone. After the move happened and my mother discussed these details with me, I knew right there these were big red flags. For one, in the state of Pennsylvania, any licensed moving company must not only provide an in person written estimate based on a home visit, including their tariff but also leaving the customer a "Know your rights and responsibilities" pamphlet, with signed acknowledgement. The next red flag was the day of arrival. They showed up in a truck with no company name, no company phone number, no company credentials, no licensing numbers or information. HUGE red flag. The guy was very personable and his team seemed to do a great job. After the bill was paid and they were gone was when everything started to go wrong. It started with my mother explaining how the head guy pushed for her to pay in cash, that it was going to save her money somehow. So she did. Bill paid in full with cash. Apparently this saved her on some additional "fees" she would have had to pay with a credit card and they wouldn't accept a check. Going around the house I began to notice some damages to her items that were not there before the move. Some damages turned into a lot. My mother explained how she was forced to sign a document at the end releasing her of any damage claims. I knew this was not right but she didn't want to raise a stink. I have since made contact with the Public Utilities Commission about this ordeal. After this ordeal, I made it a point to do my own legwork to manage the next portions of the move. After doing some research, I found Jack Treier and right there on their website as it should be was their licensing numbers which I was able to easily verify on the federal site and the state site, along with their insurance valuation coverage as approved by law. I did not need drive to insurance companies location to verify they are insured. After reaching out to Jack Treier, a scheduler was very helpful and pinning down a date and a good time frame for someone from the company to come to the house and take a good look over the details of the move and plan out a written proposal for us to consider, like a real moving company would do. The day of the visit, our estimator was very friendly and did a great job explaining to us the regulations and procedures of the company in managing the move for us. He was even able to break it down into a few different quotes for us to consider as this was still a multi part move in progress. I specifically liked how there were no hidden fees and he gave us flat rated pricing for each arrangement, instead of a guess what you pay hourly rate. The quotes were binding and he left us with several sheets of documents detailing the move, what was included and the legal documentation along with the "Rights and Responsibilities" pamphlet. I got another quote from another outfit that was licensed and insured in the area as well just for comparison reasons, but ultimately we went with Jack Treier. From start to finish they did a knockout job and there were no gimmicks. They sent a large team of men out and it was just a fantastic time with no stress. That along with the peace of mind was just worth it for all of us! I can't be more thankful for their services!

I am really disappointed with these folks. I called them for an estimate for packing (as a third party mover is moving us). The representative was not at all professional. He called me three days after he was here and told me that they were not interested in my business. Lousy service. I told the gentlemen that I was not going to haggle over price; give me the estimate and lets' do it. Would not recommend these people at all.

I got a couple of quotes for a small one bedroom apartment move to NYC. Jack Treier had the best price. I had never used them before and was pleasantry surprised with the experience. They were very prompt and professional from the estimate, pack up, and delivery. I was contact when needed to keep me informed. I really can't think of anything they could have done better.

Not good, said they have availability on date requested, evening before scheduled time to provide estimate get a call from Paul saying that day is booked, so now we don't have mover 2 1/2 weeks from time we need to be out.

Canceled at last moment.

JJ, Teddy, and Wesley moved us from Mount Joy, PA to Lewes, Delaware and did a fantastic job. They are very neat, careful, and professional. I would highly recommend them. Linda in the office and Steve in sales were also excellent to work with. A very good moving company!

Great job! Professional and efficient; couldn’t have asked for a better moving team!
- Aaron Lippy

Can't say enough good things about these guys and this company! From beginning to end, they did what they said they were going to do! Pricing was the best, guys were harding work and had a great attention to detail, and the furniture was meticulously taken care of. Just choose Jack Treier / Armstrong!

We used Steve, Jinnie and two moving crews to move 6 miles....over two months. Our belongings were packed, stored and delivered flawlessly. The movers were polite, thoughtful and so enjoyable to work with. They manipulated large pieces of furniture up three flights of stairs and through narrow doorways without a nick or scratch. A big thank you to everyone who made it such an easy move.

I wasn't sure which company to go with. A friend recommended Mayflower.i am so happy I went with them. The price was better than other quotes I had. They were thorough, friendly, they covered alk my furniture well. They didn't damage my house or the house we moved in. They forget the legs of my dresser on the truck and brought them to me and put them on my dresser in a couple of days.this was very nice, and they were very apologetic which meant alot to me. I absolutely recommend this moving company. You won't be disappointed
- Brigitte Francis

Great experience all around! Great crew and great price. Thank you Jack Treier.

I engaged Jack Treier for a 1 bedroom move to NYC (Financial District). Everyone I dealt with was polite, professional, competent, and punctual. The estimator was prompt and accurate. What they estimated is what I paid. The packup and delivery was prompt. The coordinator contacted when needed to keep me informed throughout the entire process. A very pleasant experience.
- Wesley Bucher

The 3 men that did our moving were great!! Kind, professional, and fast without compromising quality! They showed up at 9am and we were completely moved into our new house by 2pm (local move)! The total was even less than the estimated costs. We highly recommend this company. They might be pricey per hour, but they do a great job and we felt it was worth every penny.

Moving cross country can be an awesome task in its own rite. Jack Trier Moving/Storage enabled us to accomplish the move with very little difficulty. Paul Trier, executive representative, was our initial contact. He met with us and discussed the process from beginning to end. He developed an estimate (which was almost right on), delivered boxes for packing and updated our Transit documents as needed. Linda Weeks, move coordinator, is an excellent representative of your company. She knows everything that is necessary to make a move as easy as possible. She keeps the client informed every step of the way. She imparts a sincere interest in your event and works to eliminate the stress related to it. Rod Barth, team leader/driver, was great. His upbeat personality and knowledge of his craft gave us the feeling that our belongings were in good care. Mike treated everything of ours as a precious treasure. He shared his background of knowledge related to the moving experience. Max met Rod here in Washington to help unload. He added his talent to getting our stuff in and somewhat organized. Each one listed made the move a successful venture. We couldn't be more pleased and would highly recommend their company.

Hired Treier to move us to North Carolina in August 2020. They screwed up the shipment date resulting in multiple shipments that resulted in not being able to use half the items from the first shipment,e.g. shipped beds but no hardware to use the beds, had to sleep on the floors multiple nights. Damage to our property was extensive. We had numerous pieces of crystal shattered. Lamps were destroyed, our mahogany china closet has gauges as does our cherry highboy, multiple pieces of bedroom furniture have either large scratches or chunks Of trim ripped off. Numerous boxes are missing and for this we paid $15,000!!! It is obvious that their employees threw multiple boxes that were very clearly labeled as highly fragile. The staff could care less about our property. Furniture was wrapped but still wound up with all the described damage. Hardwood floors were not protected and their hand-trucks scratched /nicked multiple boards. Letting this company move you is probably equivalent to just throwing your stuff on a rollercoaster, no strap! Worst experience that we have ever had in 35 years of marriage.

This is the second time I used this moving company for a local move. Both experiences have been great. I just moved the Thursday before Labor Day weekend. I had a wonderful three man team. They were on time and took great care of my things. They were very kind and professional. The price was exactly what was quoted so there were no surprises. Everyone I dealt with was wonderful.....from the estimate to the moving specialist that sets everything up....I felt the customer service was superior. If I ever need to move again this is the company I will definitely call. Highly recommended!
