Like many other aimless millennials, I decided to choose a mover based on a perponderance of online reviews and ended up emailing Intense Movers along with probably another dozen companies. Intense Movers immediately distinguished themselves by asking detailed questions about my planned move as well as promptly and accurately responding to every question I had. They insisted on confirming important details like COI requirements directly with my building management instead of glossing over them only to have them arrive as an unexpected and expensive surprise on the day of the move after they'd secured my business - a move that many other companies, in retrospect, seemed prepared to pull. I was completely prepared for the interstate move itself thanks to their detailed attention to the planning process. Their movers were polite, efficient, and careful, and the service they provided represented an excellent value for what they charged. Carlos in particular went above and beyond. I also ordered their furniture assembly and disassembly service and they were upstanding enough to tell me that they wouldn't need to provide that service on the day of so i would not be charged for it. I unreservedly recommend Intense Movers for a long or short distance move. The most important thing they provided me was peace of mind that my move would go forward without any unexpected hiccups, which is likely the most stressful part of the entire ugly process of moving.”

There aren't many things worse than moving. In fact, I absolutely hate the entire process. But it's a part of life in New York City because you either find yourself as an innocent bystander in an illegal subletting scheme or your building gets sold less than a year after you move in. I'm not bitter. The next worst thing is finding reputable movers that will charge you a fair price, will show up on time, and won't break all your valuables in the process. All of these criteria were met by Intense Movers particularly Herc and Tremaine. The quote process was made easy by their online tool which made it simple to not forget items you intend on packing. The quote came in at a very reasonable price for the amount of items I was moving. The movers showed up on time (which is extremely rare these days). The move only took 2 hours and all my items were in one piece. To top it all off, Herc and Tremaine were as friendly as can be which was a nice added benefit to the process. Unlike past movers, I never felt like I was inconveniencing them. Overall, this was a top notch customer service experience and I won't think twice about using them for future moves. You shouldn't either.”

Let that sink in! This review is for the person like me that was overwhelmed by the questionnaires/paperwork. IT'S WORTH IT! Set aside the time and complete the paperwork. The inventory lists are helpful & handy. I like that they're email-based so there's a written record for everything. Someone is always there to return an email, or they'll promptly respond as soon as possible. Great customer service!! Note: because of their laidback nature and appearance, one could think that this is a tiny operation. BUT the movers are the movers and the administrators are the administrators. This is a well-oiled machine. Huge thanks to Simmons, Lane, and Owen! They were patient and efficient and listened to what I had to say. I will be using Intense Movers again for my next move! Suggestions for me for next time: -have bottled water for movers -have coffee too -give explicit details regarding where to wait for me/DO NOT enter premises without me or my written consent -be realistic with your timeframe (if afternoons work better for you, say that! Moving is already stressful enough) -although trustworthy, make time to check the truck after move is complete for your own peace of mind when you can't remember if you packed something or its location.”

After getting 100 different recommendations for movers, Intense Movers won my search for having an incredibly clear estimate/invoice, the option to reassemble some furniture, reasonable prices, and quick email response time (but not overwhelming, like some moving companies who started calling me multiple times a day!) They sent over all their info, we were able to get a COI over to my new building, and they confirmed the night before. I booked early and scheduled myself for the first move, which meant they actually arrived a few minutes early for an 8AM start, which to me, was awesome. I did have a friend with me to stay with the truck because this is NYC and parking for a moving truck can be a real pain. Two dudes (forgot your names, sorry!) were able to get me out of my 5th floor walk-up pretty quickly and into my new place SUPER fast. They assembled my bed and were on their way by ~11:30. The whole time they were super communicative, careful with my delicate boxes, and confirmed where they would put the heavier boxes. There were no hidden fees or surprises, and their assistance made moving really straightforward.”

I found these guys based on a recommendation from a friend and I was not disappointed. I love how they conversed with me exclusively through email (so we both had everything in writing) and used a very affordable flat rate (including the reassembly of my bed, which another company disassembled. It was an additional cost to my move rate but that was so low, I thought it was a mistake.) My move was from a storage facility in Bayshore, LI to Bed-Stuy and Siri, Rob and Noah actually arrived earlier than the requested time. Incredibly efficient (respected their communication style with each-other), and friendly dudes who, when even faced with the difficulty of carrying my *very* heavy sleeper sofa up and around a narrow flight of steps and hallway, did. not. complain. This 2 star review concerns the lack of pricing transparency and not the move itself. This company makes you spend more than 2h on providing detail on every single one of your items before they even give you a range of what their pricing could be. This is an old sales trick, where they hope that after you sank so much time with them you will accept their quote. Making pricing discovery costly hurts us, the customers, because we cannot effectively compare prices. Here is my experience: 1. I called and provided high level details for the move to ask for a range of what similar moves are usually priced at. They said they couldn't give that info on the phone and I should go through their website to get a quote. 2. I spent ~1h on their website entering the required information to get a quote. After I finished the process I got an email saying that they would get back to me via email. 3. One day later I receive an email with 48! detailed questions including a request to attach a photo of my desk, and provide dimensions for some of the items, which would be fine if I had decided to go with their service, but I at this only wanted a quote to compare prices. I responded that I would be happy to provide detail as long as they gave me a quote range for me to decide if it is worth my time. They refused and I decided to go with a separate web based mover aggregator. Hope they improve their price transparency in the future!”

I have moved 3 times since moving to New York a few years ago and this was by far the easiest move I have done - mostly because of the amazing movers that helped me out! Meant to write earlier for my move at the end of Jan. 2019, but am writing up now, because they were that great! I had a very tight timeframe for when I could move, and they got me a quote and COIs very quickly. The actual move itself was super painless, too. I had about 1-bedroom apt's worth of stuff and they moved it all out and into my new building (which had a flight of stairs to the elevator) in just a little over 2 hours (the locations were a few blocks away, so the travel time was like 15 min). Really liked all three guys that came. They were super efficient and I felt my stuff was in good hands with them. No surprise charges at the end, either. My experience was made exponentially better after I found Intense Movers, for two reasons. One, I was trying to lock down movers less than a week before I had to move in. Please know, it's not lost on me that my move was very last minute - but some of the quotes I received were absolutely price gouging. Intense Movers quoted me a fair and reasonable price right off the bat, all while providing an outstanding experience. They were clear, upfront, and very responsive. There are not enough words to describe how awesome this company is. We had an amazing experience with Intense Movers. I have never moved with movers before and this move truly was a DREAM. We moved from Forest Hills to Rockland County. 1. Using their online form to get a quote was very easy. Once I submitted the form, I (very quickly) received an email back asking for detailed sizes/ manufacturer links to all of my furniture. They then (again, very quickly) sent me a quote for my move. 2. My building requires a COI for the move - they got me the COI within a few hours of asking for it. (COI is an extra $40 which was no big deal) 3. The day before the move, I sent them an adjusted inventory of boxes, etc. and they quickly updated my quote. Day of the move: One of the team members (Ira) texted me telling me their ETA. They showed up perfectly on time. All three team members came up into the apartment and in the blink of an eye had all of my boxes out to the truck. They then started to thoroughly wrap all of my furniture in moving blankets. Within three hours everything was out of the building, packed into the truck, and we were on our way. The drive from Queens to Rockland was tough -- tons of Friday afternoon traffic, so it took the team a bit longer to get up to the house. The unload once they got house took no time at all. The team put everything where we wanted it. Not one wall damaged, not one of my freshly painted white walls scuffed. Intense Movers was recommended to me by someone I work with who recently moved with them. They were very affordable, very friendly, and very professional. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a great mover. I thought the move was going to be VERY stressful, but it wasn't stressful at all. THANK YOU!”

Compared to other movers in the area, Intense Movers offered really competitive rates. I found Intense movers after getting a recommendation from Nextdoor. I emailed back and forth for awhile but got the quote (very budget friendly) and necessary COI for my new+old building mgmt companies. The foreman (Evan) confirmed night before and they arrived on time @ 8am. I was ready for them but was unable to secure parking. They came prepared with masks and gloves for both our protection plus the normal moving blankets, dollies and tape. The three men crew did a great job and was able to load up in an hour and a half (apt was a 3flr walk-up). One guy left for another job and Evan & Simmons finished up at my new bldg. My wife and I had a newborn and they were mindful with unloading/move-in. They put boxes and furniture where we wanted to optimize unpacking and re-assembly. We thank them and would recommend using them. They did a great job and I gave them above the normal tip because of the crazy times we are in with the Covid-19 pandemic.
