Our experience with "Hired Muscle Moving" was bad. We were supposed to get 2 trucks and 4 movers; we never had 2 trucks and we had 2-3 movers most of the time. This delayed the loading/unloading process which extended till midnight !!! Although I appreciate the effort the guys have made, however if you are working for more than 12 hours doing your job you would expect mistakes to happen. I had some damage to furniture items and one of the walls. And when I was asked for the payment, I wanted to have a discussion with someone from the company to acknowledge the damages and inconveniences. Then I was told that the owner of the company was driving to our house to "get his money". And when I talked to him over the phone, I mentioned the damages and I told him that my credit card information was available to them (when we signed the contract). All he replied to me was : "I want my money, do you have the money, how are you going to pay". You can imagine what the situation was: the owner was driving around midnight to my house to get his money (How ?), he seemed angry, and did not acknowledge our dissatisfaction with their services. I felt unsafe !!! I would never recommend this company. They are unprofessional, do not keep up with their commitments, and would not care about their customers' satisfaction. In response to the general manager response: Good morning and thanks for your response. Let’s first orient the readers to some details: 1) you are the general manager, not the owner, and my communication with you was quite good. 2) I want to refer to one of the guys who came over by “X” (no names), he was very nice and he witnessed the conversation between me and the owner. And 3) the process took 2 days and as you mentioned the 1st day was the day of packing, and the 2nd day was the loading/unloading. Going back to the contract, you were supposed to provide us with 2 trucks – that never happened. You were right about having 5-6 movers during the 1st day only and they were available for a couple hours; we had 4 movers for the rest of the day and I acknowledge their hard work. On the 2nd day we had 1 truck, 2 movers for 12 hours, 3 movers for 5 hours, and 4 movers for 2 hours. The bulk of the work on the 2nd day was done by 2-3 movers who became exhausted at the end of the day. If your company has underestimated the amount of work needed for moving, then this is a problem. Eventually we did not get what we agreed on and this caused the delay in finishing the work. I was helping the guys to finish as my kids were waiting for their beds for 4 hours past their bedtime !!! Now moving to the payment section, when you called me at 7:40 pm you asked me for the payment as the guys were about to finish. My answer was that they still needed a lot of time (and that was true as they finished 4 hours after your call). Later all I asked for is to have a discussion to account for the inconvenience and damages before the payment and this is my right as a customer. Then I knew that the owner was heading towards us; X was a witness to the whole situation, he was on the phone trying to resolve the problem, he seemed not relaxed about the whole situation and he also listened to the conversation between me and the owner as if it was on the speaker. X actually apologized to me for this uncomfortable situation. Thanks for reassuring me that you do not harm people; however, I cannot assume the owner was driving to my house at midnight to have a friendly discussion or to apologize when he was not listening to me over the phone and all that he mentioned was the money. Can you give me a reason why he was coming over ? It would have been resolved just by an apology. You eventually acknowledged my remarks only after the payment was approved. With no further details, please refer to X to verify the details of what happened during that day.”
