They were 15 minutes late and only one guy showed up at that time. The other guy finally showed up but they didn't start for a little while. The second guy that came really did not help much and the first guy was doing all the work. They finally got the trucks loaded and we went to the storage unit. At the hour mark of being there, they had only taken 2 loads of a few boxes each on their dolly. The next thing I realize, one of the guys was walking away. I he really leaving the job?? Nah...he's probably just going to find the bathroom. Forty-five minutes later, the other guy comes to me and says, "Will you go to the front office to see if the other guy is there?" So I went, and nope! Not there! He walked off the job! The other guy calls his boss and his boss says he was on his way. By then, it had been about two and a half hours at the storage unit and we still had two trucks full! The boss guy gets there and they start to form a plan. Then the other guy who has been working starts yelling and walks off the job! I asked the boss man if I needed to find someone else, and he said he has other people on the way. Well, an hour goes by and another person shows up. The two of them form a plan and finally get the trucks unloaded and the storage units filled. I was originally quoted two movers for $279 (no hidden fees) for three hours and an additional $79/hr for any unforeseen circumstances that may arise that causes the job to be longer. They knew upfront the furniture I had as well as me having anywhere from 75-100 boxes. It took 8 hours with all this nonsense which I do not consider unforeseen circumstances that should cause my price to be higher and the majority of the time was either wasted on breaks or only one man working and not two. The boss wanted to charge me full price, then backed down to taking only 1 hour off the fee. Are you kidding me? Your company has wasted my day and this was not my fault in any way. I paid what I felt was a little higher than fair price because the work was completed, but it should not have taken anymore than 5 hours. I will never use this company again nor will I recommend them. The boss man told me I had a new crew and he keeps running guys off and can't keep them. While I fully understand it's July and we are in Florida, you have to have a better system for keeping men on the job. I do not know how they have a 5-Star rating.

I live in Daytona and arranged for movers to unpack a POD for me. The communication was great; they checked with me the day before to confirm time was still OK. The guys arrived on time and unloaded the pod without any breakages or scratches on my newly painted walls. All done in double quick time. Matthew and Danny were fantastic. I would recommend them and the company anytime.

Jim the owner quoted us a price of $299 for 3 hours and $79 per hour after that. We thought that was a great quote and the time did not start until they got there. So we scheduled our move. Jim gave us an arrival time of 9:30 a.m. The night before the move, Jim called to tell us that he needed to move the time between 10:30-11:30am. I told him that will still work for us. The day of the move, no one came by 11:30am. So I called Jim on his cell. He said he was traveling from Tennessee and he will call his crew and that one crew called off and was short handed (not my problem). The guy called me and said he would be at our place at 1pm. I told him he was to be here 10:30-11:30am. He said he got his route in the morning and that was the time he was given. I told okay but please be here at that time. So I called Jim again to tell him that I was upset that I did not receive a call with the new and 2nd time change. Jim started to yell at me, that he was travelling and that I should not be cursing his company or his guys. I said I never swore at his men or his company. He told me then he would cancel our move and that we should find a local company (I thought he was!!!). I told him he will not and that he needs to make sure his guys show up. He kept threatening to cancel our move. I told him again not to cancel. Then he hung up. Talk about a man who was nice to get your business but not nice when questioning his service. The guys who moved our furniture were GREAT!! Very polite, careful with our furniture and quick. I told them what happened with Jim and they said that is not unusual for him to threaten cancellation and that he flies off the handle very easily. How can a man who runs a business be this way and stay in business?? If it was not for the people working for him and always apologizing for him, he would be out of business. The only reason this company is getting 3 stars is because of the crew, not Jim the owner.

We found ourselves in a very difficult position. We needed a move of an item, which was about 450 pounds to be picked up in Ocala and brought to our home off of Highway 42 in The Villages. These gentlemen called and stated they were getting close to Ocala. They then called and told me they were almost to our place. It took everything they had to get this mammoth piece off of the trailer. They helped us unpack it too! We can only imagine what it took for them to get it on the trailer first in Ocala. Matthew and Phil, we are eternally grateful for your politeness, kindness, hard work and honesty. This means everything to us! We will definitely call Helping Hands again! 🙂 Lisa and Richard Zidlick

Jim was awesome to make an appointment with, he was very personable and was easy to get in contact with. The movers were great, they were quick and professional. I had some furniture that were on its last legs but they survived the move. Nothing was broken and the guys went the extra mile. I've moved about 4x in the past 4 years and they were my favorite moving company. I'd definitely use them again

Fast response when looking for quotes and communication regarding the appointment. The guys called about 20/30 minutes out to let me know their approx. arrival time. The movers themselves were on time, courteous, friendly, professional and took care in the couple pieces I requested to be careful with. Jim and the team at Helping Hand Moving Services are fantastic! We just hired them for an in-state move and it went flawlessly. We had a ton of stuff to move! Two 26' trucks worth! First we had a team come and pack the house ... that took a full day. Then they moved us from Daytona to Kissimmee ... with all the stuff we have it took a full 12 hours for the move. The guys never complained and worked the long day like champs. VERY professional, friendly staff. Fair, competitive pricing. Thank you Matt, Kevin, Phil and Jim for a painless moving experience. I would highly recommend Jim and his team for anyone needing help with packing and moving. When we have to move again, I know who I'll be calling!

So when i got approved for a house i knew right away i needed a moving company. I used flat Rate in the past from NY to Florida and they were okay but this time i was only moving 12 minutes away and not much to move, 20-25 boxes, 4 beds, 3 tv's, 2 tv stands, kitchen table and couches. I checked the local listing and received a few quotes from chain comp to local company's and Jim from helping hands gave me a great quote, was available on the date i needed AND no payment until the job is done. Moving day comes and i was greeted by Jesse and Willis. Very nice and professional. They assured us the move will not take long and will handle our things with safe hands. Sure enough, they were pretty quick and all of our belongings arrived safe and sound to our new home. Thank you Jesse, Willis and Jim for moving our life to a new chapter and you were apart of it.

So picking a moving company can make you sweat. Doing it blindly off yelp not much better. I can say that I was surprised and completely satisfied. Communication prior to the job was prompt and all questions answered. We agreed to 2-3 hours. The guys said they would get it done in two. The finished and they charged me only for the two hours. All was fast clean and competent. Thank you for doing the sweating for me. No sweat with these helping hands.

The movers were great & efficient. The only ding & loss of star is that I had to give my credit card info over the phone, as the movers didn't have the square. Yes, I had told them I was paying with a credit card. So, I would use them again & just plan to pay cash.
