Harvey’s Moving Company Reviews

Would never use this company. Paid $500 for them to move some large furniture. The employees used illicit profanity in my home, in front of my daughter. They got the furniture stuck in the stairwell and I was forced to remove the banister for them to get it unstuck. They made three holes in the wall of the stairwell and damaged both pieces of furniture. The employee tried to lie and say the damage was already there until I showed him that it extended to where the furniture had been disassembled so previous damage was impossible. The owner assured us that we would be contacted by his insurance regarding the damage. At his direction, we sent pics of the damage. He sent someone to patch the wall. We can't get any response on the damage to the furniture. After several attempts to contact them all we have is one ugly e-mail response and $2400 worth of ruined furniture. RUN AWAY!

Harvey's Moving Company was available, so we used them. It was for a very short move, around the corner. They were on time, but were not prepared for the day. It was to be A. Take home goods and boxes to new house around the corner. B. Bring Things from Detached Garage at new house and Bring into new house. C. Go to storage unit and pick up household goods and deliver to new home. The were not interested in this, and informed us they did not get the information. They did A. but it took from 9 until 4 PM (2300 s.f. home). Then they did bring requested items in to house. Finished by 5 PM. Most of the items (all boxes and anything heavy) were left in the garage). They were so tired they would say, oh please don't say this is going upstairs. etc. So we simply said leave it in the garage. Still have the storage units to hire a company to get boxes and furniture, along with the garage boxes and furniture. The two gentlemen were in their mid-60s and one in his mid 50s. All had medical problems. They were very nice men. They were very trustworthy and hard working.

This company will present themselves as a reputable company. Far from it. The workers don't show up on time, smoke cigarettes while on your property, steal, and act as though your tv was already broke before they touched it. Worst moving experience ever. Beware!

I used Harvey's Moving Company for a move from NC to SC in October of 2019. There was a lot of damage done to my items. There was damage on my like new dining room table, living room furniture, air purifier and they even knocked down almost half of the fence around my in-ground pool and busted the top of my tanning bed. I received an additional bill within minutes of them reporting the pool damage. When I asked for reimbursement for the damages I was informed that I did not take out additional insurance to cover any replacement. My husband and I were never told anything about any additional insurance and we assumed they we covered. They offered us .60 cents per pound for the items damaged. They refused to answer or return my calls. I finally got in touch with the insurance company who told me that the additional charges were for additional time that was taken because the distance from the truck to my home was too long. The additional time that was charged was used while the workers spent 2.5 hours trying to pull the U-haul trailer out of the fence and back up the hill. The insurance company told me what they would pay which was about a fourth of the damage cost and we settled. I then found out that the insurance company sent the amount of the bogus bill to Harvey's Moving. It was all nothing but a bunch of lies. If you value your possessions and don't like being lied to you should stay as far away from this company as possible. They are crooks.

I used Harvey's Moving Company back in June for my move. They were responsive to any questions I had, regardless of what time of day it was. However, the day of the service, the movers arrived two hours late without any advanced notice. I had a flight to catch later that afternoon which put me in quite a predicament. One of the movers had injured his leg earlier that morning, and was not able to participate in the actual moving process, which prolonged the time it took for the one poor gentleman to do most of the work on his own, adding to the price for the move as it was an hourly rate. I was happy with the quality of work they did, but making the customer responsible for the lack of efficiency, despite it not being anyone's fault, was not okay in my opinion. Upon raising this concern over the phone, the manager was not understanding of this reason and still charged me the full price regardless of the late arrival and one-man job.

Avoid at all costs. Unprofessional didn't deliver what was promised in service and when questioned about it Estimator was very rude insulting and patronizing to me, a female. Nice moving guys but they didn't have masks on and sweated all over my wood furniture.
