Not so happy with this place they told me one price over the phone then when I came in it ended up being more very upset

Working with them is a nightmare. They promised to arrive 8-10am to start packing and when we called at 10:30 the sleazy, dishonest owner told us they were allowed to arrive as late as 5pm! Absolutely disgusting customer service. The women who work in the office are incompetent and unprofessional. The owner is a liar and the movers are lazy.

So much was broken and packed poorly. They even dumped out a copier paper box I used to store gift wrapping supplies to put glass light fixtures. Of course one was shattered and the whole lamp is useless. And all of the gift wrapping stuff was crumpled at that bottom of the box. Who would do that?? They also broke an invaluable ceramic dish I purchased overseas. They didn’t bring a single wardrobe box so all of our clothes were wrinkled and dumped in normal boxes. They are just awful and lazy and slow. Don’t use them!! Also, all of their positive reviews are THEIR OWN EMPLOYEES. Pathetic.

Unprofessional, lazy and untruthful people working for this mumps and pups moving company. They broke the stuff, try to overcharged and raised they voices when they talked to me and my kids. They packed nothing and screamed at me the same time as I am member of their dysfunctional family and stupid. The movers have no accountability for the price they charge - $ 95/hour including packing. Like I said, they didn't want to pack and lied about it. They had no packing materials that include in the price. It took them forever to go from A to B as they also took lunch on our dime. Scam artists!

★★★★★
I've noticed some complaints on laziness and decided to write a review of our experience. Just finished a move with them and loved their service. They arrived 30 min early, we didn't pay for packing so they explained what we were able to take (boxed and furniture items) and packed as quickly as possible. While unloading they asked us where each item went and did their best to put each item in place. They set up our beds, etc. We moved on a weekend and we were charged a better rate than any other place we contacted (weekend moves are double in price wherever we looked). Please make sure you take note of the temperature and humidity for the day of the move. It's been terribly hot and humid on some. The movers will need more breaks on those days so schedule on cooler days with better weather. (They were able to work with minimal breaks (i.e. Drink breaks) when we moved because it was below 70°). Also I recommend hiring a packing/cleaning service (vs. any moving service) as each team specializes in different tactics. The movers were amazing and Frank (the lead mover) is a jedi with making things work on a move! Will move with them again!

I haven't used them to move, but me and my wife can't thank them enough for their help. Me and my wife had come off the road into a ditch in the middle of a snowstorm, and one of their drivers who was passing offered to pull us out with their truck. If they hadn't helped, then we would have spent the night in our car waiting forever for a tow truck. We're incredibly grateful and will be recommending their company to all our friends and family.

Employees are nasty over the phone, have a "don't care", "not my problem" attitude. Glad that we decided to use another company rather than Greater Dayton, I did not feel like my belongings would have been taken care of. The woman over the phone seemed like my simple questions were an inconvenience for her to answer and mumbled things under her breath.

I'm in the business and dealt with their warehouse personnel. I delivered a shipment and Joe and Dallas were a joy to work with and office personnel made my experience very smooth. Tks

On May 25, 2019 Jimmy and Kriss showed up to move furniture for my husband and I from our rental condo to our new home build just 3 miles up the road. They showed up promptly at 8:00 AM and were done within 3 hours. They were professional, funny, courteous and went above and beyond. I'd request these two gentleman by name 🙂 Thank you!!

First, we thought the actual people who helped us move were great (Scott and Jeff); however, the office staff have been quite disappointing. For those of you with the TLDR mentality (I get it haha): Movers were good but not careful enough, front office staff did not listen and poor communicators, were generally difficult to deal with, and have since not responded to us about a TV being broken in the move even though they stated that they would get back to us. When I first called, I gave the time window I would need the movers to come based on when we would have rented our truck. The man at the office told me he could only specify and hour window, and I thought "okay, well that's strange, but okay." Then, when they called to confirm the move the day before, that time estimate had been expanded from a 1-hour window to a 2-hour window. I explained that if movers showed up in that timeframe, we would not have a truck yet. They seemed unphased by this information and said "ok, the movers will call en-route." Being the day before the move, it was doubtful we would find someone else, so we stuck with the choice. On the day of, the movers called and stated they were arriving at the earliest part of the time window, which I then had to explain to them that I tried to explain to their office. Both of us were frustrated and disappointed with the office. Once again, our movers were professional and kind, even helped out our neighbors. They were a bit pushy though, and sadly were not quite as careful as they made themselves out to be. Our TV was broken in the move, and as far as we can tell it was directly due to where it was packed in the truck and with a piece of furniture that could hit it in the center of the screen. So, now to dealing with the office again. We called the office, and the office-manager who answered the phone became quite interrogative and hostile very quickly, immediately stating firmly and angrily that they would not be responsible. I stated calmly and gently our disappointment and frustration. She stated she would call the dispatch and get back to me. Days went by, and I called again, this time a male office-manager took my information, said he would get back to me in one hour. He did not. I called a third time and a different person took my information again, stated they would call back. They have not. Seems it will be unanswered at this point, and quite disappointing.

Do you want to pay for this sorry place to destroy your stuff? Pay them for taking lunch on your dime? say no to the scam artists! I wish I did! I Wish I read truthful comments before ordering help of abusers.

Currently moving from OH to AR which alone is a stressful relocation, but I have had a wonderful experience with the team I worked with today. Frank was very efficient and kind during the whole process. Jesse was great with the inventory organization. I could not have asked for a smoother moving experience for a large move.

★★★★★
Our movers were efficient and honest. There is a 3 hour minimum and moving what we needed help with wouldn't have taken up that whole time, so they moved many of our smaller boxes as well. They even pointed out an issue with the dryer hookup at our new address, which we would not have noticed if they hadn't shown it to us. You will get above and beyond what you pay for if you go with this company.

Greater Dayton Moving & Storage has been great. They arrived right on time. They worked quickly and efficiently. They packed our stuff really well and acted with professionalism and kindness. My crew I enjoyed was Charles, John and Frank. If you can request these guys I would. John was the crew chief and was awesome. He runs a tight ship excuse my navy slip. If I move again I will definitely request them! Great job! Thank you!

I would like to first lay out some context facts before I provide my review of Greater Dayton Moving and Storage. I hired this company approximately a month ago. I called to confirm twice and ask basic logistically questions. The move was a basic but large family move, 4 bedrooms, and garage. The service was booked for Saturday 06/27/2020. I hired a 3 team moving crew. The booked time was 8 am-10 am. The company was booked solely because of the great service they provided to my grandmother during her move over 4 months ago. These are the facts. The execution of my request was the biggest fail for Great Dayton Moving and Storage. We were supposed to be moved on Saturday 06/27/2020. After organizing childcare for my 3 young children and strategically packing my home; at 8:00 am we were ready to move. At 10:32 am I spoke with Amy. She informed me that one of the crew had a family emergency. The emergency was taking his wife to urgent care. I expressed my sympathy, and then ask what that meant for us. She requested I be okay with moving Sunday 06/28/2020. I would like to pause here to explain my main point of anger and disappointment. I am understanding and empathic. I understand things happen. People call off, emergencies happen, cars break. I was not mad that the employee of Greater Dayton Moving and Storage had an emergency, and I truly hoped that they would be okay. I am angry because the leader/owner did not have a contingency plan to accommodate this emergency. As the client, I should not be left in the cold because you (the company) have a staffing issue. I will get to the many options that could have been considered later. After a few calls back and forth with Amy, I reconfirmed that moving a different day was not possible. Our beds were dismounted and broken down. The lights, water, and gas were to be shut off, and most importantly, we (my husband and I) promised our children they would get to sleep in their new home. She was friendly and did try a few options (hotel, discounts, etc.) But all involved changing the already planned, and in-process move…to Sunday 06/28/2020. I declined and offered several options. 1. Can you send just the two guys and my husband and can help? 2. Can you send just the one and the truck, I can get some guys? 3. What about contracting our job out to another company, Greater Dayton Moving and Storage negotiate the rate with them and I get my move? 4. What about hiring day workers? All of these options were turned down. While I am sure the company has solid reasons for not wanting to do any of these; at the end of the day, that is not my (the client) problem. I needed to be moved Saturday 06/27/2020. After my final “no” to change my move date, Amy called back and said she found another crew. According to her, only 2 crews hired on Saturdays. The other crew was on a pretty big job but would be able to come at 3:00 pm on Saturday 06/27/2020. She stated it would be a crew of 4 (at no charge) and assured me it would go fast. I was annoyed but thankful for the solution. Amy gave me the mover's name (Roger) and his phone number. She also upon my request gave me the manager number (John Singleton) and I ask for the owner’s name. She assured me that they would be there at 3 pm after their other job was completed. I specifically expressed my worried and distrust that the problem was resolved. Amy stated, “We will not leave you out to dry, I promise”. Since she had been very friendly and did seem to try hard to resolve their companies staffing issue, I believed her.

No non-sense, gets the job done! $330 = 2 guys, 3 hrs, a giant truck, from Fairborn to Downtown. They were early, fun but professional, and very hard working. Thanks Frank and Che.
