When they did show up the next day they had one man and a minor child moving my 2 bedroom apartment and it took over 12 hours. I was charged over $500 more than they estimated. I was initially impressed with the quote I got from Joe and I thought that the sales team and the movers who picked up my move from Austin were very professional despite being outside of the appointment window (2-6pm, they called around 6pm as they were tied up with another move that was larger than expected). I have been told for the past 3 days that my items were being moved into a truck that day and would be arriving the following day. Wish I could give ZERO stars. I made a quote request at the time of my move, along with several other companies. I ended up going with another company, and have already completed my move. They proceeded to call me 3-5 times a day, as well as send text messages regularly. I chose to ignore their calls because I was no longer in need of assistance. I then had to block their number so it wouldn't connect. They changed their number and continued calling. Finally, after the 3rd call so far today (it's noon), I decided to answer. The man I spoke with launched into his sales pitch and after telling him I was not interested in their services and to please remove me from their database, he did not cooperate and instead badgered me with questions like, "well who did you go with?" which I declined to answer. He continues speaking so I admit I hung up the phone, thinking he'd get the message. He then called me back several minutes later, and because I was fired up, I answered. He then had the nerve to insult me by suggesting I didn't know the difference between a broker and a moving company. He argued with me that he wasn't being pushy and I repeatedly pointed out that I asked him clearly to stop calling me, and he did not. It was like he was trying to prove some sort of point. It was a terrible experience and I do not recommend this company because of how pushy they are.”

Thinking of using this company for a long distance move? Only if you have a huge house with a lot to move! This company is not interested in smaller moves like apartments. Those get put at the end of the line - last priority - no matter what day your belongings were initially picked up. They will tell you every day that "tomorrow or the day after, we will load your items onto the big truck" and you should have your things very soon. Not true. In the fine print of your contract - they have 21 business days after they pick up your stuff before they have to load it onto a moving van, and 30 business days before they have to deliver it to you. When they came to deliver my boxes, one of the boxes was missing and the delivery person told me they "mis-deliverd" it to someone in Missouri. It took me two months to get my box back, most of the items broken and me paying for some shipping charges for the box to come via UPS from Missouri to Iowa. The amount of calls and messages to sort this out was outrageous, none of the office people at this office respond properly. As a last note, Geo Van lines did give least possible price for the move. The storage unit it was being taken to was not but 35 miles away. They did not attempt to cover the floors with anything and got mud all over a brand new rug. No apologies. Nothing but complaining and griping the entire time and me and my husband having to tell them to get busy, that we were paying by the hour for them to work, not gripe.
