After helping people move in and around Missoula, MT for four years as a side profession, we found that there was a growing need around town for reliable help. In 2014 Garden City Movers, LLC was born. We are excited and looking forward to expanding our company to meet the growing demand of our fellow Missoulians.

Moving is one of the most challenging and stressful times in one's life! As a single gal, I was overwhelmed how to coordinate it all and where to begin! I started making calls realizing I cannot ask my friends to take on such a huge feat. After talking to a few companies, I quickly found out how expensive hiring movers can be and became discouraged. Until I found Garden City Movers! Joe was incredibly compassionate, encouraging, and willing to go the extra mile to help. Of course I was on a time crunch but Joe worked his magic and squeezed me in much sooner than I could get anywhere else. A couple days later, Adam and Guier (I'm not spelling this right, so sorry!), showed up and were were absolutely amazing!! They were so patient, flexible, kind, and positive as I ran around talking out loud, changing my mind, and processing way more than I'm sure they cared to hear. They stuck with me and worked soooooo hard! And within 4 hours they had the whole house moved out and into the new spot!! Prior to my move, a price of $2970 was presented with a final price of $3300. agreed upon. During the move, an armoire was damaged. The invoice I received was for $3900., which was $600 over the agreement. There were no changes on my end to incur more charges. I spoke with Joe (owner) who stated that he was honest but he needed the additional money; he had taxes due, etc. At the conclusion of our phone conversation, he agreed to charge my credit card for $2300. and after the furniture damage invoice was presented, we would settle the remaining outstanding $1000. of the agreed upon $3300. I gave him my credit card info. Instead, Joe charged my credit card for $2300. PLUS an additional $3650. My credit card company will fight him. It makes me sad to realize how disreputable and untrustworthy he is.”

Paid for movers because I was moving to another state and wanted my items secured properly. I did my part and packed boxes and items carefully with plenty of paper, bubble wrap, etc. Garden City Movers ended up sending two college kids who dropped my furniture, scraped up walls, etc. But it was what it was, too late to call another company at that point. Very disappointing but not surprising that most of my furniture and items were ruined and destroyed upon arrival - pisses me off because it cost me $3000 to rent the truck and have it transported. Please don’t use this terrible company if your items need to go a long way - they won’t make it and you’ll end up having to buy new things anyway when you arrive.”

They were on time and very polite. They moved each item we had very carefully, demonstrating a lot of knowledge about how to move awkward and heavy items safely and without damage to the dwelling or the item itself. We normally use a mattress cover when we move because previous movers have dragged it on the ground (either accidentally or without thought), but we had no need for it whatsoever with Brandon and Josh - it looked as spotless and new when they were done moving it as it did when we started. The company is not ethical or honest. In the first move to my storage unit, several items of furniture were damaged. In the move to my home, I was told by Joe to work directly with his employee for pricing and moving. I was given a price of $3300. which I approved. The move was executed. Joe then sent me an invoice for an amount well over the $3300. I disputed the amount and listened to his argument of basically why he needed the money and at the same time telling me how honest he is. After a phone conversation, due to additional furniture damage, it was agreed that Joe would charge my credit card $2300. until the furniture damage repair invoice was received. Now he has charged my credit card twice: $2300. plus an additional amount in excess of $3600. Yes, I will fight this unethical business. I recommend anyone else.”
