They movers were kind, but the company has decided that they will offer an insulting amount. It seems that taking insurance with them is a scam and only adds to their revenue. I have asked for an appeal which I am sure they will come back with another insulting amount. When I called they said you should have read the policy. I asked the agent if the insurance was theirs or an outside and he assured me it is Chubb. So it is my fault in trusting them. I have learned and can not reccommend then on any basis. I am only happy they did not break any items of real value or I would really have an issue”

“ If I could give ZERO STARS I WOULD. I've been using FlatRate since 2010 and just came to find out I was a loyalty member. That garnered me their top notch mover who I'd used before. And $100 discount at most. Given we're in a pandemic, FlatRate gave me a quote and charged me for additional cleaning services in the building I moved to me for extra precautions due to Covid 19 requirements. Day of move, I get 3 guys that have collectively been moving and with FlatRate for 2 weeks max. It was a rush job. They brought things down to the truck in increments, wouldn't come back upstairs for some time and when I went to check, one of them was sitting in the truck smoking even after they told me HQ was rushing them. They left the truck open on the streets of NYC unattended. Packed my work desk with the contents in it and when they flipped the desk, everything came crashing out. They used one box per item in certain cases. Overall was an absolutely AWFUL experience. They breached their contract and I was charged a penalty from my new building. Apart from Covid 19, the service was still awful. I could not get the salesperson to respond to me prior to my move. Day of the move they did a bait and switch. I will NEVER use them again.”

“ I go to college in NYC and was kicked out of the dorms so the beds could be used as overflow beds for hospitals burdened by COVID 19 or to house medical personnel. Due to the short notice, I was unable to pack my belongings before going home. Thankfully, Flatrate Moving provided a hassle-free move and storage solution when I was unable to be there myself. All the representatives I spoke to were friendly and accommodating and the movers kept me updated every step of the way. The flatrate moving app was also helpful for adding items that I had forgotten to include. My one complaint is the inaccuracy of the "locate your truck" feature, as it said my truck was in the same spot for multiple hours when I knew it was definitely not there. Furthermore, the app only allows you to add new items to your inventory, not increase the quantity of an existing item.”
