I do not recommend that anyone use this service. I scheduled my move weeks in advance for July 31st to begin between 8 and 9 am. The day before, I receive a call stating that I wouldn't be able to be accommodated until noon due to operational issues. I am a flexible person and do my best to extend grace, especially to Black owned businesses during these times. The movers did not arrive to my apartment until after 5 p.m. This caused a major inconvenience since my move was out of state. As soon as the movers arrived, I had to get in the car and hit the road and beg my new landlords to allow us to meet up late to exchange payment and keys. Fou hours later, I receive a text saying that the movers were tired and we're going to move my belongings in the following day. I was in my new home with no bed, no microwave, and none of my other essentials. As a result, I had to spend the night in a hotel. The movers came bright and early the next day, but acted surprised by my disgruntlement. Without acknowledging the several inconveniences that were caused, one of the movers accused me of being unsupportive of Black business, when I was the one who sought them out to begin with. Because he was upset, his professionalism drastically dwindled. The mover raised his voice at me, lit a cigarette on my property while we were talking, and took several phone calls. I will not name the other acts of unprofessionalism, but these are things that would have never happened if I was not a Black woman. As they were leaving, I asked about an item that I hadn't seen them bring in. They told me they left it at the apartment because they thought it was trash. This prompted me to have a friend go inspect the old apartment for any other items and possible damage. This images below is what my apartment looks like after this moving company finished the job. I am very displeased and dissatisfied. I also feel disappointed, but I will not allow this isolated experience to distort my view of other Black businesses.”

Highly recommend! Responded quickly with a quote- the best price I could find in the area- and were able to book me for a next day move. Move was scheduled for the afternoon but they got done with their first project early and asked if I wanted them to come sooner, which was perfect! They wrapped my furniture and handled my things with extreme care, but we’re insanely quick- got my entire apartment moved and stored in less than 2 hours. I honestly hate writing bad reviews. I try so hard to support small businesses but the experience I had with Elephant Movers was not pleasant. I initially requested movers for Saturday June 20th,2020 between 9-10am. The scheduling process was smooth and the representative was accommodating to my budget. Friday (June 19th,2020) night around 11:45pm I received a text message canceling due to thunderstorms. I was flexible and rescheduled with the mover for Saturday( June 27th,2020) at the same time. I had not received any word on confirmation and reached out Friday night myself to confirm move. I spoke with Inez who was pleasant and notified me that the company had 2 jobs going in opposite directions and wanted to know if I could change the time. I notified her that I could not change the time because I had painters coming to the home at 2pm. She promised me that they would be able to accommodate my move. I thanked her. Saturday morning comes and I receive a text from Inez asking yet again if they could reschedule after the painters. I told her that the furniture had to be moved prior to painting. I asked her what is going on and proceeded to call her twice. I have yet to hear from the company and it is now 10:09am. I had to scramble and find another company to accommodate the move some day. Thank god I was able to. I have tenants moving into my home and have to be out by July 1st. I am very disappointed in how unprofessional this company was regarding this move. I would not recommend to any friend or loved one after this experience.”

They came with furniture pads, tape, and dollys. Wrapped all the furniture very well and even wrapped the couch pillows! I had a couple of antique pieces that I trusted them to handle with care.
