“ We used Duntara Moving & Storage for a local move of some office furniture and supplies last week and I was pretty impressed with the amount of work these guys completed in a short time. They arrived and immediately started working on putting blankets on the larger items and made sure the boxes were packed correctly and secured before loading anything onto their truck. They sent out a crew of 4 strong men to pack, load and unload an office building with 20 different smaller offices. We had a few issues with one of the guys as he was sick and unable to work as efficiently as the others but they arranged for him to go home and they sent someone else to replace him. The majority of our employees were impressed when they started to take apart and then put back together their desks without even being asked. I would rate them 4 out of 5 stars and would use them for any moves going forward for professional or personal.”

“ My 8 year old daughter and I were standing there then all of the sudden these idiots backed up 5-6 feet almost crushing me and my daughterand just about took the entire wall down sliding glass doors and all!! My daughter was hysterical, and so was I but, I held alot in. Moms must never loose it in front of their kids.Reports were made, blah, blah, blah. You'd think they would give us a huge discount for such blundering mistakes, but no. No discounts. Just an aloof attitude and a REQUEST FOR A TIP!!! I would'nt suggest these guys to my worst enemy if my life depended on it. We were renting so all that crap was left in our landlords hands. After breathing a huge sigh at our destination, I start unpacking and 50% of everything I owned was broken. Plates, cups, keepsakes. I think these guys were russian. Probably were mentally poisoned in Chernobyl. I did not even want to give them a star at all but the post button would not show up unless I did. These guys are a joke.”

“ I had an extremely bad experience with American Moving and Storage from beginning to end and it got increasingly worse through the entire process. First, they employ totally dishonest sales people who misrepresent their company as a “legitimate carrier” when in fact they are nothing more than a deadbeat broker among the dregs of the industry. They promise to use of their own trucks and employees for your move, none of which exist. As soon as you pay your deposit (which is their gross profit), they broker the entire move to the most incompetent, dishonest, rock bottom carriers in the industry (in my case a company called Source One based in Raleigh, NC). American never informed me (by intent) that they brokered the move. I am going to deal with specific feedback on the Source One scam in a separate review, but I need to highlight some issues with them in this review as American Moving and Storage was legally and ultimately responsible.”

“ Run from this Company!!!!!!!!, changed the price before entering the apartment and had the LL sign something confirming the new weight(advised me she thought she was signing approval release for them to enter that i gave her) the 10% deposit i left in cash for the guys "disappeared" and I had to pay again. They took 45 days to deliver, and when I was telling them I would get my lawyer involved they told me they would just bring everything back and leave it in the parking lot. Considering I was in another state at this point, you can understand my anger. They charged me for a loading truck bc they were not allowed to get a 24 wheeler into my new development but did not use it. They instead carried my things from about 3 blocks away up and down hills, etc to bring it in. Legs on my couch were broken, maybe one plate made it unbroken, 2 glasses shattered, etc.”

MIKE came and gave me an estimate on moving from my old home to storage and from storage to my new home. Thought it was all good. They moved all my furniture to storage until it was time for me to move. However, moving day to my new home came and he all of a sudden got amnesia and sent me an estimate for an additional $450. When I approached him about our deal he told me he's no longer going to move my furniture because he felt disrespected. I'm now renting a uhaul to do it myself. BUMMER!!!!!!! DONT use this company. They are liars and a ripoff. They are on ripoff report online.”

“ DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Over a year ago, I started looking into moving companies. I received a call from American Moving & Storage and the guy on the phone talked so smooth. He had me hooked and everything seemed ready to go. I was supposed to receive an update on when exactly the movers were coming a week ahead of time and no call came. I tried calling the company - and as with every time I ever called them, there were massive wait times. The original person I spoke to on the phone didn't work there anymore, and I finally got to someone who could give me a date but no time. They didn't call until late in the day (we weren't sure if they were even going to show up) - and then we watched as our stuff came tumbling down the stairs, hearing it breaking in front of us. We were never given any delivery date (Just - "Oh! it's gonna take more than a couple days"), were just left to wait day after day for 2 weeks until the truck just showed up one day. Any calls to the company during that time resulted in major wait times and no answers ("we don't know"). Once arrived, the crew said they wouldn't unload in the rain (it was a light sprinkle) and were going to close up the truck and leave til the next day - so my husband ended up unloading much of the stuff. When they did unload, they used our large expensive treadmill as a ladder, so by the time it was off the truck the main panel was broken off. On unloading, there were two missing tables, one of which was an antique wooden Asian side table that is a priceless heirloom to me. The mover exclaimed, "Oh! I saw that in our manager's office. List it as a lost item and we should be able to ship it to you in about 6 weeks." I have spent the past 14 months emailing, calling, sending photos and attempting to locate this table. I'd bet it's sitting in that manager's house. Every time I contacted them I spoke with a different person, and no one indicated they were really making any attempt to find it. Oh yeah - they added $1,000 to our bill by the time our stuff arrived, and offered to compensate us $113 for all of our broken and lost stuff if we kept quiet about our experience. I cannot express the frustration I have experienced over the past year with this company - I'd rather save someone another bad experience than take their money - no amount will be able to replace my lost furniture”

“ AWFUL! I am so upset with this company!!! As a result of their negligence I have an $1800 brand new bed now completely USELESS! Those guys LOST the headboard which is required for assembly...In addition they ALSO LOST two large mirrors, an 8x10 beautiful wool rug, the glass piece of our patio table, and broke a chair. They also delivered another family's memory box to us...and their driver rushed us so much at drop off...He told us he only had 30-40 minutes to unload (like 400 items!) so we had no chance of inspecting items and realizing how much stuff was missing. THEY NEVER FOUND OUR BELONGINGS, which resulted in about $3,000 direct LOSS for us :(((”
