Ridiculously long story short, my belongings were picked up from Long Beach for a move to Boston on August 19, 2018 and come October 22, 2018, my belongings hadn't even left the holding center in California. My contract designated a 30-business day window for delivery. Because my items never shipped, I was forced to hire movers to retrieve the items myself and put in holding in California then re-buy everything that never came for Massachusetts: a bed, clothing for the cold weather, dressers, household items, etc... After a down payment to the company, fee for pick up and unnecessary purchasing, I spent over $3000. This company simply did not deliver (literally or figuratively). I emailed a letter to multiple members of the D&J staff, among them Jen Bieger and Maria Gonzalez, detailing the entire situation and never got a response let alone promise of a refund. I am now forced to take legal action against this company. I absolutely would not recommend trusting your belongings or your move with D&J Moving, LLC.”

DO NOT HIRE! UNRELIABLE & UNREACHABLE! I was 6 months pregnant when we moved from LA to Florida and picking D & J moving was a HUGE mistake. I was given a quote & after the movers came and loaded up the truck they told me I owed them another $1000! They told me I either had to pay or they had to unload everything. I had no choice but to keep my stuff on the truck as our lease was up the next day. It was almost impossible to get any updates on our belongings and after calling multiple times I was told our stuff was in route, but weeks went by and nothing! They lost track of our belongings and it took 2 months for everything to finally arrive. I feel like this company is criminal & should not be in business. I'll be reporting it to the BBB as well. Ok”

Update: No progress made in getting our deposit back after many attempts to contact D & J. I have emailed and called and received no responses. After they subcontracted another company (they said they would not do this) to move our goods, the truck and the load was destroyed after the truck caught fire. So if losing all our belongings wasn't enough....they will not return our deposit. This is how they do business.”

The only reason I'm giving one star is because I have to. This is the WORST company I've ever dealt with. They picked our things up from Indianapolis in April 25th and told us they'd be delivered to Phoenix three weeks later but the contract gave them 30 days to get it here. I was called on May 2nd and advised my things would be here the following weekend. When they picked our things up my husband advised that the semi would not be allowed on the property of our new complex to which Jeremy said was fine and they'd load it into a smaller truck. Fast forward to this call and now there's an extra $650 charge, mind you we were a few thousand in and didn't want to pay the extra charge. I called the original company that sold my contract to D&J to complain (they're getting their own review) and nothing ever happened. The guy I was dealing with eventually stopped replying to my calls and text messages. Original delivery date was the weekend of May 11th, we didn't receive our things until the END of May. And when we received them there was a ton of damage and missing boxes. They placed all of my fragile boxes at the BOTTOM of the stack so that means allll of my items were broken, dishes, vases, picture frames. The also managed to break my television that THEY wrapped. And the claim process, forget about it. They expect you to have receipts for things you purchased in the last such as jeans and shirts. This company is not at all worth the trouble they put you through. And here's the kicker, the entire time they kept telling me my things were on the way, they were actually STILL IN INDIANAPOLIS. The lies this company told were ridiculous. The day before my things were scheduled to arrive we reserved a U-Haul. Well, an hour or so before they were supposed to be delivered the A-hole driver calls and says I have to wait another day because of issues with another delivery. Why that had to be my problem, no clue. The people didn't want to pay them because of the shitty service they'd received. I don't blame them. I didn't want to pay either. ********* Since writing this review, I was contacted by a rep from D&J who apologized and made a positive step towards rectifying the situation. He explained why they were having issues with sub contractors and I sincerely believe him. I appreciated him contacting me to discuss my concerns and genuinely believe they have taken appropriate action to improve their overall customer service. Thanks guys!”

I shopped around and got different quotes from multiple moving companies. I looked into each company. I made sure to speak to my representative from each company and ask the important questions. My final, and BEST, decision was to go with Direct Relocation Services. They weren't the cheapest of my quotes, but I just knew they were going to be the best. I was right. I don't think my move could have gone smoother. It started with the knowledgeable representative from their office. He knew the business. He knew what he was saying. He had confidence in his work. That was one of my main selling points to use them. Once my movers arrived, we spoke and went over everything again. Once again, this employee was also knowledgeable and confident in his work. They helped me with my packing (and did a better job than I did with the boxes I had already packed myself). I'm assuming it is because of their experience, they knew how to properly pack and wrap. Once again, I was impressed. When we arrived at my new home, they unloaded the truck. They worked really well together, they were respectful, efficient but not rushing, they were happy; they made this experience great for my family. After unpacking all of our stuff, I am happy to report I have ALL of my belongings and nothing was broken/damaged. This was a worry of mine with dealing with a move. I couldn't have been happier with my decision to use Direct Relocation Services. And now I have a great company to refer to all of my friends and family.”
