This move with this company was the biggest fiasco I have ever encountered with a business. My move was scheduled for 8-10 AM and at 10AM and no calls or movers I called and was told they weren't sure what happened but they would be there between 1-2PM. At 3PM still no movers so I called again and was told that they were running behind and would be there in 45 minutes. At 430 or so I get a call that they are still behind but will still come. At this time I ask if there will be a price reduction for all my waiting and was told NO. Then to top it off they started adding charges for stairs and taking beds apart and putting back together that I was not told about at the beginning. At 530 I call back because still no movers and was told I could wait another 45 minutes or reschedule for the next morning which I absolutely was not going to do since I work and had taken this day off for the move. I asked again about a discount and the girl on the phone was very rude so I asked to speak with her manager and was told "I don't have one of those." I then asked to speak to the owner which she did get him on the phone and he did credit me for taking the beds apart and putting them back together which I did appreciate but when the movers finally arrived close to 7PM they were in a hurry because obviously they were tired and ready to go home, one of the movers hurriedly trying to get furniture out of my house ran the loveseat into the wall putting a hole in the wall and tried to act like he didn't know he did it. When I called him out on it, he acted like he hadn't seen it before even though my daughter had seen him do it and said he looked at it and just walked away. Move was finally over close to 10PM and then the next day I see scratches on my bedroom furniture. I would never use this company again if I had to carry my furniture on my back to get it moved.”

I packed all my house belongings and Coburn only had to move the items onto the truck. The 3 guys I had were good and covered and taped all the furniture very well. My items were in storage for 2 months, in what they told me was going to be storage containers. My furniture was delivered 2 months later to my new home. There were nicks in most of my pieces. The boxes that were packed had dust, dirt, and what looked liked yard branches, etcs in them. Also cloth items in boxes were dirty. The boxes I used were new boxes and everything packed was clean.. The amount I was initially told would be the cost went from $1700 to $3100 they day I moved. I had to get out that day and had no choice to use them. Also, I was told they were a Christian organization and would take the items I donated, put them in a " donation center", and give them free to those in need. That was one of the reasons I chose this company. None of this was true I was told by a reliable employee. The items went to employees who wanted them and they are not a Christian organization. I will not recommend them to anyone in the future.”

Horrible service! Moved my great grandmother's stuff out of her house after she passed away. They responded to the house, tag, loaded and packed all the furniture up on one truck. They changed the orginal quote from $1222 to the new price of $1626 a $404 increase! The invoice the driver wrote that the furniture was broken, nicked, dented, faded, STRETCHED(how do you stretch a brass bed) all boxes were peeling (rubbermaid boxes) the invoice was incorrectly written with several mistakes. How does a brass bed have an arm, the mirror also had an arm. Contacted them to have them deliver the furniture to my current residence, a pair of drivers showed up late by three weeks, and they were missing 2 very old and irreplaceable pieces of furniture! Broke the wooden edges of a 1800 era wooden mirror! Wroght-iron bench bent and misshaped, several dressers were damaged. They picked up on Sept 26,2018 and delivery was arranged for Sept 27, 2018-Oct 4, 2018, actual delivery date was Oct. 26, 2018. After delivery I contacted them multiple times on several times a week, spoke to Matt (responsible for shipping) Steve (current CEO). After about 4 weeks of calling they stopped answering my calls and no longer returned my calls, to this day I have not been able to make contact with anybody and they are no longer accepting new moves. Stay away from this company, it is not worth your time, nor money to deal with this.”

It was a very fast process to set up. Coburn Van Lines was recommended by a fellow employee. I was able to video the contents in my house instead of trying to explain it. I have not moved by myself before and had absolutely no idea what I was doing. The man I spoke to was helpful, but a little blunt at times. I got the feeling that he was being a bit pushy. Since they were recommended, I did have faith that everything would end up working out and it did. The remainder of the move was very stress-free.”

The people at Coburn Van Lines got off to a bad start when the truck did not arrive during the 12-2pm expected time. Nor was I called to be informed of the delay. I called the office at 2pm and was told they would reach out to the drivers and give me a call back. At 2:30, having heard nothing, I called and was told they would be there in an hour which was much too late to get started. We rescheduled for their first opening which was 9-11am the following day. From that point forward, all went very well. We received a call at 8:30am that the truck would arrive at 9:00am. It arrived on time and the crew was excellent: very professional and efficient, carefully loading and then uploading at the destination, hauling down, then up two flights of narrow stairs. So the move itself exceeded expectations. I am not sure if they were short staffed on the day of the first attempted pickup but they should work harder at making sure they are consistent and keep their customers informed at all times.”

I know how to analyze companies. The one thing I did not really appreciate is on of the movers had a short temper. Did not really sit well with me, as I did not consider it professional. I would have left a lower star rating just for that, but everything else with Coburn Van Lines went swimmingly, so it would be rude of me to do that. He has been reported to customer service and the manager. So, hopefully, they are taking matters into their own hands.”
