Burke moving came out to our home to do a free quote and was the ONLY moving company out of several that would even consider our needs involving an afternoon move-in. They moved our 1800 square foot colonial home with 3 outbuildings on a rainy Thursday in November, took their storage trucks full of our stuff to their lighted secured parking lot and then came the next day to move us into the new home. They didn't break a single thing; Tony and the crew did an amazing job, were very professional and very respectful of where everything went. They took apart four beds and put them back together in the new house. I was so pleased with our experience using Burke Moving and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND them to anyone looking for a moving company. I would never use this moving company. The crew took very little care when packing my things. I was internationally moving and the crew was supposed to arrive with crates and crate all my items on site which they didn’t they only boxed them and crates at their site, due to this fact I was unable to claim my broken items with the military. I was unaware of the fact I needed to be present when my items were crates. My wedding dress which was packed in a wardrobe box arrived UPSIDE DOWN! Was ruined in the move. I had yet to wear my dress and the company never responded to my requests for repayment. Also every single lampshade was broken also, and my mattress was never wrapped and arrived filthy! Customer beware!! Find another mover there not worth the value. On top of the fact items arrived broken the packing list which I signed was not the same packing list which arrived with my items. My signature had been FORGED!! The legal action has gone cold and this company has gotten away with FORGERY!

Try not to USE THIS MOVER. They appeared with a little UHAUL Truck. They decimated my washer and dryer and would not reimbuse me for repairs ($600+) and i never got a protection settlement for the case.

My family and I have moved with the military over 15 times and this has been the best experience that we ever had with any of our moves. The moving crew that was sent by Burke Moving & Storage was phenomenal and they were so careful with all of our items. There was not a single item that was delivered damaged or destroyed. We have always had at least 1 or 2 items that needed claims. The crew on the delivery end was just as great as the original crew. The staff in their office was very helpful and did everything in their power to make sure that we were satisfied with our move. If you need to move, be sure to call them!

DO NOT USE!!! Burke Moving along with North American Van Lines turned my move into a NIGHTMARE! Things were broken and missing during packing and they didn't even finish the move! I had to hire someone else after it was packed because they didn't know when a truck was available! I was charged storage fees and NO ONE would take responsibility for broken or missing items! They don't return calls or emails so do not waste your time!!!

This was probably my worst experience moving any household goods. I have moved 5 times in 6 years, most being from overseas locations. This was my first time moving from one state to another. I wanted to haul all my things personally back myself but my job required it to be hauled back through a respective agency for me to be reimbursed. Of course "Burke Moving & Storage" was selected. Since all of my moves has been smooth I had no doubt this would also be. The projected arrival was suppose to be within 30 days. I called 5 days after my items did not arrived. I thought it was strange. I did not receive any notifications I.e phone calls, emails, etc. when I was finally was able to get in contact with the respective agency they informed me my items were still being held at its initial location due to storage containers not being available for my items to be moved. I called my moving agent to see if there would be any inconvenience funds being repaid back to me. He informed me that unless I rented furniture or stayed within a hotel I would not be reimbursed. Then! At the 60 day mark I called about my household goods and their location from my agent. He informed me that it was finally moving. But the moving agent apparently gave them the wrong tracking number. & that they have been tracking the wrong shipment for the past week. And that their could possibly be a mixup with someone else's shipment due to the tracking numbers being switched. So my items are somewhere. But it's on the way. Please if you are thinking about moving do not go through this company. Unprofessional & disorganized to the utmost.

We contacted Burke to get an estimate for a cross country move from NH to Texas. The receptionist answered promptly and set up an appointment for two weeks later with Brendan. On the date of the appointment Brendan didn't show nor did anyone call with an update. An hour passed and we called and asked what was happening. Brendan said he didn't have any appointment on his calendar for us and stated that his secretary has recently quit unexpectedly. So we made another appointment for the next day. He showed up at the appointed time and handed me a card that stated he was the company President. After touring the house for the items we'd be moving and answering a few questions he left. A week later we still hadn't gotten our estimate so my wife called him and left a message. Two days later, still no response so I emailed him asking when we could expect to hear from him. Another week has passed and we still have not received any communication from Burke Moving whatsoever. If the President of the company considers this acceptable customer service, and we definitely do not, one can only imagine what the rest of the crew must be like handling peoples possessions with a leader setting an example like that. We've unfortunately wasted a month of precious time on Burke Moving.

I would like to add this second comment of the company I reviewed to let consumers know that burke Moving and Storage in Somersworth, NH work with my husband and i to repair a valuable antique that was damaged in the move. I appreciate the owners working to remedy this problem. We called Burke Movers and sent Sue to do an estimate on a move from Dover, NH to Rochester, NH which is approximately a 12 miles. Sue was very prompt and we liked her right away. We had a 3200 square foot home with lots of furniture and a storage unit. She sent us the $2600 estimate which included a large truck , 3 men and a one night overnight storage. We excepted the estimate, set the August 8th date, and we packed and packed. Day 1 :The movers arrived (about 9 AM) early on time the day of moving and began. they worked extremely hard but a few hours in and trying to jam far too much stuff in the truck, they realized they were going to need another truck! First problem! Finally after several hours longer (3 or 4pm) than anticipated, they went to the storage unit in Newington to load the 2nd truck. Day 2: Movers were to arrive at 12 noon to our new home and start to unload. Problem 2. I had to call the office 2 or 3 times because they never arrived. I was told they were delayed and would be there in 45 minutes. Movers arrived about 2 hours late and had no reason why they were late. When asked, they did not know they were to be here at 12 noon! I had arranged for Xfinity to come for a 2 o'clock appointment to set up TV and internet figuring it would give plenty of time. He had 2 wait 2 hours for them to find the box of equipment to be unloaded. Now I have 2 trucks and 4 men. They unloaded for hours , so by 5 or 6 o'clock, I ordered pizza for them because they must have been there starving.isa, the manager showed up as well to see why it was taking so long. Problem 3 arose the next day as we started noticing things, several pieces of furniture were scratched and the top of our antique secretary was completely cracked on both sides! Several dishes were broken as well. I immediately called to speak to Lisa and she got immediately defensive but agreed to come to look at the piece of furniture. She walked in the house and immediately said the secretary was moved over. I told her that no one touched it and it was exactly where it was put! I was not going to argue with her and let her know that a box or something must have fallen on it. She tried to tell us it was not properly reinforced. I told her that was not the issue and that both sides were now cracked and that other things were damaged. Her response was that there is a $500 deductible for damages. I mentioned that the damaged antique is worth 3 times that. She reluctantly told us that she would call a gentleman on 6th Street in dover to look it over and see if it could be fixed. that was around mid August. Several phone calls and no response from Lisa, I called and threatened to take them to small claims court and she immediately called and promised to call me on Tuesday which would have been Sept. 3. It is now Sept. 7th and if not fixed, i will be bringing it to small claims after I file a complaint with the BBB. I DO NOT recommend this company for your move.
