:Simply - DO NOT USE - thank me later! If I could give than one I would. Simply the worst experience possible. Would have been better to move myself - will definitely never use again and I recommend you do the same. First, they showed up, propped open my door before I got my cats secured, feared one had escaped as I could not find her, the answer from the crew? "Well they are free at the pound, so you can get another one" Then after discussing how who fault it's was, the crew threatened to just pull my stuff off the truck then.. Second, they show up without a moving dolly, just an appliance dolly. So it's moving boxes by hand - which takes forever. Third, it seems there discretion of "what is ok to move and what isn't" is VERY subjective. We were moving 1.5 miles, some picture frames are OK to move but then others not so much, some open boxes are OK to move then others not so much. Fourth, they don't really treat your furniture with much care or attention, unless it's to say it's something they can't move, then they are careful. I could go on about the attitude, but I think you get the point. All in all your better with someone else - we have used 3 men and a truck before and the experience is 100% better, faster and they actually took care when moving my furniture - not to mention they come prepared. You get what you pay for, some things are worth paying for...”

Do not use them. They gave the two hour arrival window. They said they called but I don’t answer phone numbers I don’t recognize. No voice message, no call backs. After a half hour, my husband called as they hadn’t arrived and we had heard nothing. I was at work. I called their office and the receptionist was rude and short with me when I asked if they were coming. They then showed up. They knocked and my Husband said just let me get our cats put away. He caught one cat and put him in a closed room. Came to find the other one and the front door was propped wide open. No sign of our cat!!! No remorse, no apology. Just oh well, they’re free, get another one at the humane society! I left work at to try to find my cat. They were slow, careless and couldn’t care less that our cat was missing. What took previous movers from Two Men and a Truck 2 hours took them 4 1/2 hours! And this move we had even less stuff! But when you’re only moving one box at a time, it’s easy to milk the clock! So if you need to move, don’t call them!”

Black Belt Movers were very flexible with last minute schedule changes. They also scheduled a 2-hr window of arrival, and after I requested for an earlier time, they delivered and came early. Mike, Charle, and Darian helped me with my move. The movers were very professional, friendly, and efficient. They also helped disassemble and reassemble my mattress stand. All my things arrived in good condition. They were also great at navigating the parking spaces of both apartments. This was my first time using a moving company, and it certainly felt like a smooth and easy process. I would definitely recommend Mike, Charle, and Darian for anyone who needs help moving. The only critique I have is that the calculation of travel time to and from their office (at 60th & L) felt a bit arbitrary. Both my new and old apartments are a 10 to 15 minute drive from their office, yet I was initially quoted for a 1 hour travel time, instead of the 30 minutes (or 45 minutes max) that I had expected. It was changed after asking about it though! Other than that, I think the experience was pleasant and as smooth as it could have possible been.”

I had everything packed and ready to go and was just moving across the street to another apartment in the same complex. It took 3 gentlemen four hours to pack, drive across the street, and unpack my one bedroom apartment. They had actually forgotten roughly ten of my items in the hallway of my old building; luckily I walked by and saw them otherwise they would have been gone forever. 1 Star of 5 rating: ...it appears that if they are unaccountable for damages incurred during the move, regardless of insurance.... I hired Black Belt on a referral. The initial phone call, in home survey and scheduling were great. The three movers hired with a truck showed on time and were professional. I provided the crew water, soda and power drinks as a courtesy. The movers moved quickly, pointed out any pre-existing damage throughout the process for concurrence or documentation. Sometimes they seemed to move a little too quick. The packing of the truck overall was good, but a little careless with the washer and dryer, and stacking of items higher up. On delivery they moved quickly in the rain to unload. They placed things where I asked them to in the 2-story house with basement without issue. As I began working through boxes in a room I found my custom hand-made cherry rocking chair behind piles of boxes with a broken leg. I also discovered long scratches on the side of my black lacquer finished upright piano. I filed claims appropriately on line as I had purchased additional insurance for this type of occurrence. It has now been 90 days without the claim being resolved, 30 days without contact to try to find the correct solution - repair and replacement under the insurance. I understand the environment with COVID, but this is wrong. I cannot recommend them for this reason, as it appears that if they are unaccountable for damages incurred during the move, regardless of insurance.”
