They moved a lot of large items (450 lb grill, treadmill, etc.) and didn't stop moving until everything was put away. The movers themselves were terrific, getting them to my house was the problem. When I first contacted Big John's via email, I didn't get a response for 4 days. I called and was told they did send me an estimate, check my spam. No email. Front desk girl was pretty short with me, but I ended up scheduling my move anyway based on the glowing reviews. I was told they'd be coming in the "afternoon" - a sane person might think that means 2:00 pm or so. I was also told I'd get a call when they were on the way. At 3:45pm I called the office, and the front desk girl said she'd check where they were and get back to me. An hour later and no call, no nothing. I call them again, and she says she has a team ready, do I want them? I said yes, of course, why didn't you just send them already? It is now 4:45 pm. I get a call at 5:00 pm from the movers, they were 45 minutes away! They worked quickly once they arrived, but by the time I actually had all my furniture in my very small house, it was almost 9:00pm. No complaints about the actual movers but if you're looking for a timely, responsive company Big John's is not the way to go.”

A friend recommended Big John movers to us when we were relocating in Cincinnati, but we had already booked another company for our home move. We moved with the other company and were left underwhelmed. So when we needed a very heavy 7-piece desk unit picked up in KY and delivered to OH we called Big John. Not only were they THE most competitive rate, they did the job SAME DAY! Patrick and Dre were an incredible team. We were purchasing the item they were picking up sight unseen and a little nervous, and they made the whole experience better! They constantly checked in about timing, traffic, and even asked me to text them a picture of the item we were expecting and called me once they got to the pickup site to confirm everything matched the photos and looked great. These two gentlemen went above and beyond to provide piece of mind and worked extremely diligently, carefully wrapping and efficiently moving each piece of furniture. They set up our huge new desk with a smile and even shimmed it to perfection. What an awesome experience, attention to detail, and service! Very personable and hardworking movers. The clear “second in command” guy had a good sense of humor. Did exactly as requested for moving most furniture and larger items from an apartment to a new house. Easily managed a giant truck on a very narrow, small residential street. Talked me through expectations, which were clear, and similarly from other reviews amount was exactly as quoted (we clocked in at exactly that 2 hr time). We scheduled only about 1.5-2 wks in advance, whereas the first co we called were already booked (this was for a Friday). Same prices no matter day of week. Only small suggestion would be that we technically didn’t get a confirmation email- we rec’d email about the quote (so they had the correct email). We called several days after we sent confirmation by email and the person said she was sending a confirmation within the next day and that we were locked in. Technically never received this, but week of luckily they beat us and called to confirm and obviously everything went on without a hitch from there. We had ordered for 3 guys, 2 showed up immediately and the other(s) were a little late, but 2 showed up (totaling 4) and they were very efficient and kept us with the rate for 3 ppl, which was fair. Would use again!”
