About Atlantic Relocation Systems

Atlantic Moving & Storage Co., Inc. was launched into business in Atlanta, GA in 1966 by Ted Alger, an immigrant from Greece. Originally operating out of a 700 sq. ft. warehouse/office, Atlantic Relocation Systems officially began as an agent for Wheaton Van Lines. Within four short years the company had grown to become the largest Wheaton agent and quickly realized that to continue to support the phenomenal growth that was experiencing a change to a larger carrier would be necessary. In 1970 Atlantic Relocation Systems became an agent for North American Van Lines and by the mid 1980’s the company had expanded coast to coast and had risen to become the largest agent group for North American. During the 90’s Atlantic Relocation Systems continued to grow, eventually moving the company affiliation from North American over to Atlas Van Lines in 1997. This conversion became known as the largest van line agent conversion in history.

Atlantic Relocation Systems Reviews

★☆☆☆☆
I would give a zero star if I could. I am very unsatisfied with their service. 1. Lost item -- They lost $11,000 worth of my belonging (a name brand office chair and a wardrobe box see below #2). No one seem to care about this and kick me around to file claims. 2. Packing -- My belongings were unprofessionally packed, for example, books were carelessly rolled up and stuffed inside the box to provide cushion for other things. The staff also put items into mislabeled boxes. The lost wardrobe box was packed with clothes, a fan, couch frame, storage box, shelf parts, among other things, which may complicate my insurance claim. 3. Delivery scheduling -- It seems to be hard to schedule a pick up and delivery. They need a two weeks notice and charge extra for weekend delivery. I find this very inconvenient.

We hired Atlantic Relocation Systems to move our office. It was a huge mistake. We ended up moving 20% of the office ourselves because they didn't finish it and couldn't get their act together to arrange a time to finish it. The office cubicles they did move and put back together were literally falling apart. They normally have 20 or so screws--many of them had only one screw re-installed. Also, multiple pieces of furniture were damaged. After it was all said and done, they thought their issues only amounted to $350 off a $4100 binding contracted price. Completely uncaring and unprofessional. Their contract is written in a way that the customer has no recourse but to pay. DO NOT do business with this company. You will regret it!

I contracted with ARS to fully, door to door, handle our complex international move from Atlanta to our destination over 10,000 miles away. For those who have never done an international move, it can be a daunting task. Those who read this should also know I very seldom post such a detailed review. These guys and the team I worked with were amazing! EXCELLENCE PAR EXCELLENCE!!! No better words to describe the experience. We are only half way there but I wanted to share today's experiences. From meeting with Mr. Andy Orlin, ARS's International Business Development person I was impressed, which also seldom happens. Mr. Orlin was highly professional, handled all customs and other related documentation and was very responsive to phone calls and e-mails. Today, the packing team arrived about 45 minutes after the latest scheduled arrival time, but made more than up for it in their professionalism. It is unbelievable that two full huge households of very valuable antique silver, valuables, porcelain and thousands of other small very fragile collectibles as well as all our clothes that looked like a mountain to me, furniture, etc - everything that needed to go in a twenty foot container, was individually wrapped and packed by ARS, the truck loaded and them finished and done with a perfectly clean, unblemished walls and floors house, in exactly five hours from arrival to leaving. They did an EXCELLENT PAR EXCELLENCE job. The packing team led by Ryan, was very friendly, helpful, cheerful, careful and exceptionally efficient. The last time I had such an experience was when I moved a few times internationally with very high end international movers and before today never believed such thing existed in the USA. I assure you it does. I highly recommend ARS. I understand they do local moves as well. So contact them when in need.

The crew that performed my recent relocation through Atlantic were great individuals and very respectful of my belongings. Nothing was broken but I only had a 100 mile move. However, the drastically overused products like boxes and paper which ended up adding to my already pricey estimate. 3/5. When I escalated my concern for an additional $300 in charges I spoke to the initial salesman who was understanding. He escalated my complaint to the VP and General Manager who reviewed my inventory list. I told him of my concerns of repacking boxes and unpacking and repacking of items for which he lowered extra charges by $200 after numerous back and forth emails. 1/5. I will not be utilizing Atlantic Relocation Systems in the future and feel that the pity excess charges could have been ignored by the GM. Because of this I will be looking elsewhere for my future relocation needs.

Calling over the weekend and leaving a message for lumpers. This Morning we were contacted in regards to needing Lumpers. After speaking with the customer service rep, I was to be transferred to "Mike" however Mike was on another call. After hanging up. The phone rang. Not knowing how Google Voice works instead of Giving his name, Mike Is Saying " ANSWER THE PHONE BITCH!" If your familiar with Google Voice. After pressing 1 to be connected to the call. Mike was very disrespectful and shouldn't be a Manager or Supervisor For Any Service Related To Any Jon. I Do Look Forward To Speaking With Mike's Bosses, who are in a meeting at The Chattahoochee Location Currently.. Mike tried to explain that he was talking to someone else, which means he was talking to one of the ladies in the office area. NO HE SPECIFICALLY SAID " ANSWER THE PHONE BITCH! " So Mike You And Atlantic Relocation Feel Like It's Okay To Call Potential Customers Bitches?

You will not find many people like this that have a genuine concern for you during the stressful time of moving. Atlantic Relocation Systems has moved me 3 times as my company uses them, but since the transfers were on my own, I paid for the moving. Vanessa and Michael at the Atlanta Headquarters really treat people personally and professionally. They even involved the corporate vice-president to make a situation correct, because Assured Relocation (a poor example of an Atlas Van Lines agent) damaged a solid oak roll top desk out of negligence. Vanessa becomes your friend as you move, and you are kept informed while your move is being done. Atlantic Relocation Systems has quite a few offices throughout the United States, and worth using them to take care of all of the details. The Carrollton, Texas office near Dallas is also very thorough at taking care of all of the details! I highly recommend Atlantic Relocation Systems for personal and business moves!! Real professionals and good people!!

Do not recommend. Billy Regan is an employee there and is a predator. He is reaching out to other moving companies in the metro area and harassing them and he making pedophilic remarks about raping their 3 year old daughters. To have such an employee like that within a company makes me question the values and moral of this company.

Giving a five star rating just to catch attention. Atlantic Relocation moved my family from Providence RI to Atlanta GA in June 2019. Michael Crump was the manager. Mo Dardy was the mover subcontracted out from a company in Martha's vineyard. Company paid move: about $15k. Took them 4 days (past closing) to pack a 1600 sqft house. Left about $2000 (depreciated value) worth of property behind. (which will never be refunded). I questioned if the assigned 2 guys and a smaller truck would be able to do the job, and Dardy became belligerent to the point of confrontational. Crump was notified of all issues, and he was useless. Probably the most stressful move of our lives.

If I could give 0 stars I would. They damaged EVERY piece of furniture we have, broke at least 2 boxes open, and lost the hardware to the master bed and lost the cushions to the couch and broke 2 hand made plates. They didn't show up on the delivery time stating no one answered the phone, a lie, and then showed up 2 hours late on the second attempt. I would NEVER suggest this company to anyone. After unpacking we are missing pots and pans, sewing equipment, and sound equipment. Worst service ever

Can’t thank Eugene and his crew enough! Fast, efficient and fun to work with. Great customer service all the way through from Jacksonville, Florida to Tacoma, WA........Thanks!

★☆☆☆☆
They incorrectly quoted us the domestic rate when we were moving international. So the price was double what they originally told us, even after the discount they gave us as compensation for their error. They didn't bring enough packing materials for the move so a bunch of our stuff was broken. Some stuff went missing and was never recorded on the inventory which is very suspicious. On top of that, Atlas, the parent company, is now refusing to honor any of the claims we've made because we've moved since then. However, all our documentation of the damage is clearly dated to when Atlantic transported our stuff.

I had to edit my rating after we got to our new location, Eugene Brown was amazing and made the process on the leaving end much better, but things were not so great when we got to our new location and realized that the additional movers didn't do such a great job packing our goods We found a lot of broken pictures that were at the BOTTOM of giant boxes. Boxes were not labeled well and made it impossible to find important so we had to open up every darn box to find things. Important things, like legs to furniture, were not labeled and often found in the bottom of a box labeled 'toys'. We had to go to Ikea to buy $80 worth of legs (we found 2 of them) that we were completely unable to find but I am sure are at the very bottom of some box probably labeled "camping gear". I would have liked my audio equipment to have been better packed as well, they were just thrown in a box. I know moving sucks no matter what, but some better packing and labeling would have made a huge difference!

Eugene Brown and his crew made a day I dreaded to one that was better than I expected. After just 3 years away from the glorious PNW, we returned from Minnesota and found a 100 year old home in West Seattle. It will be super cute 3 months from now, but coming from a 5 bedroom, 4200 sq ft home you can imagine how difficult the process is! I did warn Eugene I would likely cry at some point during the day just because I am simply overwhelmed. Not a single tear! These guys understood that moving people is not always transporting items from one location to another...there are backstories to every move and everyone being moved have their own emotions as they either leave or arrive in their new home. Eugene’s word of the day was “Done!” and everything I needed was “Done!”. Thanks to all!! You all are stellar.

Eugene, Kirk, and Manu are absolutely amazing. They have been so professional, quick, and have been making this stressful move fun. Being in the military we are always moving and this has been the best move thus far. The guys are friendly and take special attention to keep the home clean and damage free. Lol Eugene also wears great socks. Update: After receiving our house hold goods, I had to update our review. This was by far the worse move that we have ever done. It started off with the movers coming a day late which caused them to pack everything hastily. While they were very nice and made the move fun, things were not packed with care at all. Upon delivery, the movers were again late though this time more than a week. They were the most unprofessional people we have ever worked with. Many of our boxes were thrown off the truck. Every single box that we opened had multiple broken items. Our brand new home now has dents all over the doors and oil smudge marks all over the walls. After we finally got everything unpacked, the total amount of damage exceeded $15,000. Brand new washer and dryer now have holes and dents all across them as well as expensive electronics missing. 75% of the boxes were labeled "last minute items" which resulted in multiple dishes being broke because this company clearly does not care about the customer. I hope that in our future moves we never get Atlas Van Lines again. Items that can never be replaced are now in the garbage because of this company.

The move went fine. It was suggested that it would take 6 people to move our house, we agreed. They were the experts. What they failed to tell us is that the clock starts when the movers get to their shop, not when they get to our house. Apparently it took 2 hours to get to our home which is 20 miles away. as far as i am concerned we were over billed at least $500. Our driver called the shop and the "owner" said that's the way it was and we would have to pay $2500 before the crew left. When i called the next day they said they would "look into it". i never got a call back. We have another major move coming up in a couple of months and they will not be on my list of folks to call. PS. After writing this review I got a call from the General Manger David. He apologized for the over billing and the communication issues with his staff. More importantly he is sending a check for the over billed amount. David provided the customer service that I expected. Thank you.

As people usually write, if I could give no stars I would, ditto..The crew was great for the most part but the so called "owner" was totally incompetent. He spent hours in one room, while his workers did most everything else. We had a very expensive bedroom set; the footboard was removed and set in a downstairs hallway going across a doorway to the garage (which no one thought to lock?). The owner opened the door from the outside, knocking over the footboard to the wood floor, damaging the wall and breaking the footboard into several pieces. His workers, strongly suggested that we take pictures and immediately forward to our moving coordinator a detailed explanation of what happened, which we did.He said he was sorry for his negligence and said they would take care of it once our goods arrived at our new home. He did, however, then make a comment that "It's good I already made a note that the footboard was already broken". It was not broken, although the top was a little loose, but it had been moved in that condition before, which we had already explained to him. After our shipment was delivered, our footboard (in several pieces) was placed in our garage, so that it could be picked up to be repaired. We filed our claim and the agent in Washington sent some explanation about our headboard (not footboard) with pictures of the headboard that had been disassembled. We had to send a long explanation to say that the headboard was reassembled and was totally fine. It was the FOOTBOARD that he broke that we were talking about. A week went by with no response. We contacted the coordinator and she asked us to submit a repair estimate, which we did. Another 2 weeks passed, then we spoke with their insurance person who asked us to send pictures of the bed set as it looked before the move and if we had a sales receipt to show the value of the bed, which we did. The next day, she responded to say that they were only going to give us $60 per the moving insurance toward the repair. The damage happened because of their negligence before our goods were even packed. Luckily, the agent we had actually contracted the move with (at our destination) and the coordinator with Accelerated Relocations said that"would not fly" and worked with the origin agent and the repair person to finally have our footboard fixed.

My family just relocated from Houston, TX to Sammamish, WA. Eugene and his crew (Dwight, Dave, and Kirk) were fantastic! They worked so hard, were so polite, and made the whole process stress-free. Eugene's "family" was able to explain the process, unload the two trucks of items, assemble some furniture, and make sure nothing was missing in just over 4 hours! We opted to unpack our own boxes. I agree with another reviewer's comment about Eugene's socks, they are as great as his personality! Each and every one of those guys worked hard and deserve high praise for treating us (and our home items) with such care. Thank you!

tried to give them business for our small interstate moving since they have Dallas office. Got an online quote so call the the number listed with the quote. Nobody picked my calls and the line got cut off each time I tried. the quote online for our job is about $2000 but at one time one of the agent told me thats would be over $3000 actually without even go though my list. Very surprised a business. Feel totally wasted my time here.

Eugene and crew helped us move into our new townhome. They were very professional, courteous and thorough. They set up our beds/tables and unboxed everything. Besides that, they made sure that carpets were not harmed and used protective film to come in /out the home. Highly recommend.

Atlas Van lines through Atlantic Relocation Systems delivered our home items today. They were on time, professional, pleasant, and asked where we wanted everything. They put the feet back on the furniture. Even though our weight was higher than estimated, they honored the not to exceed bid without any question. I highly recommend this business for anyone moving. The loading fellow came all the way from Phoenix 1 1/2 hours one way just to work today. I admire him for that. They put mats on the floor, took their wrappings with them. This was by far the best moving experience I have ever had. We have moved across country with professional movers 3 times. Our driver was Ben Glanzman and his loading assistant was Brett Wiley.

We moved from Portland OR down to San Diego in late June. We used the Tacoma office to arrange our move. This is a follow up to a posting we did on July 8 describing the damage to our furnishings and posting pictures. This is a bit of a horror story...but with a Happy Ending Thanks 100% to the Corporate Office of Atlantic/Atlas in Atlanta. They saw our post and the pictures of the damage and responded immediately. The Tacoma office, however, is not even worth dealing with. Even though we did not purchase the additional insurance, Dave and Lance in Atlanta stepped up to the plate and saw that what happened to us wasn't right, and they wanted to make a bad situation better. As Lance put it: "We can never undo the damage that was caused, but we want to make the situation better going forward." That's more than fair and they proved true to their word and we got fair a settlement this past week for the claim we submitted. THANK YOU Lance and Dave and Jon for working with us to make a bad situation better and allowing us to move forward. As another famous saying goes..."You can't control the things that happen to you...but you can control the way you react to them." The Atlanta Office (Lance and Dave) reacted appropriately and fairly! Thank You!

Atlantic Relocation helped deliver our furniture and other household items today and I was astonished by their incredible kindness and effective work! We had a few very heavy, bulky items (an elliptical and a heavy mattress) and we also had moved into a home with a narrow staircase! Eugene, Ron and Dwight were so incredible. They delivered every item to the correct room and even supported me in thinking through where I might be able to fit some of the larger items! They were very kind throughout the process! Hire these guys to help you!
