I was moving primarily furniture from a 1 bedroom apt to another 1 bedroom apartment there about 5 blocks away - so a relatively quick job. They were efficient and handled all my items with care. Each of my various items were wrapped with furniture blankets and shrink wrap. One of my desks was also a bit wobbly (owner error). And Madge went and got his power drill to tighten the screws for my wobbly legs. Overall super efficient and the move was done seamlessly in 2.5 hours. In frustration, I called and spoke to Tom, regarding my issue. He told me he would have two movers at my door the next morning to move anything I asked, at no cost to me! The service by Brown and Tyson was 5-star. The 4 stars is a mix of the 5-star service and the 3-star business practice , i.e. -hour minimum booking requirement.”

My moving experience with All Service Moving was terrible. I chose All Service Moving to move me across state lines because they are local and they have great reviews. Initially, ASM sent out someone to assess my items to determine the right number and size of truck(s) needed. This assessor determined that one truck would be fine. After I had packed much of my property up, I requested another assessment just to make sure my load was still within the range determined by the previously assessor. Again the assessor came to my home and reported back to me that things should be fine. On moving day the ASM truck arrived, taking out several branches off trees on the perimeter of my property. Two movers showed up expecting to get the truck loaded in 4 hours. They also had been falsely informed that I would need help boxing items up. I was alone in the house while the movers were on the premises. At one point the two of them began to fight and I could hear them on the lower level screaming and swearing at one another. It was clear that the movers were overwhelmed and that the job was a much bigger one then they had been led to expect. In the end it took 8 hours for them to load the truck and several of my possessions did not fit. The truck departed around 9pm. New tenants were set to move into my house early the next morning. I had to scramble to find places to put the precious items that did not make it onto the truck. Several items that I had not intended to dispose of had to be taken to the donation center, or the dump since the donation centers are not taking furniture due to Covid. Two days later the truck and same crew arrived at my new home. They asked if it would be okay if they unloaded the truck into my home without wearing masks. Of course, I said no. I began to notice as items came into the home, that there were several pieces that were scratched and abraided. Then the crew showed me that the legs on a much loved beautiful Victorian desk had broken off. Over the next few days as I went through my possessions and furniture, I was sickened to discover that 13 pieces of furniture, mostly antiques had suffered serious damage to their surfaces. Unlike my larger furniture pieces which had been loaded onto the truck first and which had been wrapped and loaded well, these smaller pieces had not been wrapped adequately or packed correctly, and so during transport had been jostled and rasped against other items in the truck. I know that moving is stressful, especially during a pandemic. I know that one cannot expect it all to turn out perfectly. But 13 pieces of furniture (mostly antique) plus a rare antique desk is an unbearable amount of damage to sustain in a move. I hope that ASM learns from the mistakes made in my move. I regret that it was my valuable possessions and my trust that had to bear the brunt of this lesson. AMS has agreed to cover the cost of the damages once I got an estimate from a skilled fine furniture repair craftsman.”

"Hey, didja notice the FRAGILE sticker on that box?" This time was so relaxing i actually sat on my lawn in the sun as the crew loaded the truck. Details: moving me from a four-bedroom home with lotsa furniture and still too many boxes into a 10x25 storage unit. Dom called when on the way and apologized for being 30 mins behind the scheduled time. when they arrived, he did a quick walkthrough to assess, and then the crew jumped right in, carefully blanketing and wrapping all the furniture and loading it very carefully.
