Moving-Me about 2 Young Studs Moving

This moving company is licensed and insured for local and interstate moves. Their trucks are owned and operated by them, meaning they do not rent trucks to complete your move. For local moves they charge an hourly truck rate in addition to the labor rates listed above. For interstate moves they charge a flat rate, and the hourly rates above do not apply. This team also specializes in flat-rate moves for customers who are moving out of state. All of their flat-rate quotes are binding which means with 2 Young Studs Moving LLC, there are never any hidden fees or unexpected charges. They always make sure they only book one interstate customer at a time so they can complete your entire move in one day without being rushed. This service is designed strictly for one or two bedroom apartments, they do not move houses on an interstate basis. Not all interstate moves are eligible for this service. Please contact Chris at the number above to check their availability and to discuss the specific details of your move. All serious inquiries will be followed up with an in-home estimate where Chris can assess the goods that the customer is looking to move. Chris will offer a written estimate at the time of the survey. Estimates and surveys are free of charge, however because they only book one customer at a time, a small “good faith” deposit of $180 is requested for interstate moves. Good faith deposits for interstate moves are non-refundable. Please note they do not move pianos.

2 Young Studs Moving Reviews

I recently was moving my son in the new haven area to another apt in the city. It was a move that I needed to get done quickly and professionally. From my very first call to 2 young studs ( have to say the name was what drew me in!) lol I spoke with the owner Chris who could not have been more accommodating for everything I asked. I was at complete ease with out ever even meeting in person that was a great way to start. So after booking in very short notice like 12 hours he sent me 2 young studs for sure Brandon B and Angelo. The guys were pleasant professional and strong! They also made me feel at complete ease with everything. I left them to do three thing and met them at the new location when they called. They were confident and professional throughout it all. Answered even the silliest of questions without any hesitation. The move was amazing and without 2 Young Studs amazing team from First call with Chris to his awesome guys on site I don't think we ever could have been so pleased. Thank you Chris Brandon and Angelo you truly made our day!

2 Young Studs Moving did a wonderful job with my move. I spoke with Chris on the phone several times and he was helpful and courteous. Kevin and Brian were my movers. They both went above and beyond and even helped with a latch on my storage area that was jammed. Kevin did a great job stacking boxes so that everything fit in a small space. I am beyond impressed and I highly recommend 2 Young Studs Moving!

I am NOT satistied with the service. I was supposedly offered a 20% discount as a student but the overall price was still much higher than what they advertise online ("2-Stud Crew: $80/hr + $40 Flat Travel Fee"). They agreed to a flat-rate but afterwards directly asked for $60 to cover the extra time. Many bottles and glassware were broken, and the corridor is still sticky three days after. DO NOT recommend, wouldn't have spent $240 with them ever again.

They did a great move for me.They skillfully packed the truck and carefully unloaded it. The price was fair and the work was excellent. Kevin and Santiago did an outstanding job! Very professional and hardworking. It was particularly impressive the way they worked with me to solve packing and moving problems. On a large desk that wouldn't have made it up narrow stairs, Kevin skillfully took it apart and reassembled it upstairs! These guys were great!

Avoid at all costs. Chris is nice to you until you make the deposit payment, and does a complete flip the second you do. He is inflexible, vindictive, poorly responsive, and just downright awful in dealing with the customers. Just reading his replies to reviews on here should give you a good idea of the type of service you get from him. You will save a small amount of money going with them over actual professional movers (there are only a few in new haven unfortunately), but I'd strongly suggest moving yourself and saving even more money than hiring studs moving, unless you just want to have the most atrocious moving experience of your life. Or better still, pay a little bit more, and hire a professional mover instead.

The movers were clean, polite, funny, and did not break anything. My mom's move got done. I had an issue, and the owner Chris immediately rectified it and made it 100% right!

This was my first move with 2 Young Studs. Booking the reservation date/time was simple, I called Chris and booked the rest online. I was able to check my reservation on their online calendar to confirm. My movers were Brian and Charles, and both were 100% exceptional in their work, respectfulness, and communication. In 4 hours, everything was moved from my old home to new. This included disassembling and reassembling furniture (sofa, queen bed, tv stand, dining table, dinette) and moving numerous boxes and smaller items. I was surprised by how efficient they were, and how easy the whole day felt compared to prior moves I have had. Furthermore, the price was reasonable and not too expensive! I paid around $500 for the entire move. Overall, I hate moving, and this experience made me think, it's not so bad after all. I highly recommend this company for any move and ask for Brian and Charles if they are available.

These guys are amazing. We hired a three-man crew and two trucks for a move than included overnight storage. We did a buy-sell on the same day so we had to be out the night before. I don't care what any of the negative comments say, these guys are first class, top notch professionals! We have come to expect really bad service in just about every interaction these days - restaurants, banks, utilities, you name it - but the Studs buck the trend here. In addition to the fact that they were moving our stuff in the pouring rain without one single complaint, the guys were solid dudes - really nice, well-mannered, good guys. One of them was on his third move of the day and was as nice as they come! Do yourself a favor and treat them like the professionals they are. Have snacks and water for them, and tip them well - they'll work hard for you. Everyone was right on time, as agreed, and our family couldn't be happier. If you want a great crew to get the job done right the first time, call Chris and his team. You won't be disappointed!

I used these movers twice in the past. The first time the crew was quick and efficient, no issues. I was quite impressed by them actually. The second time around, Chris was MIA when I booked my move, and only confirmed after I had to incessantly call and leave numerous messages. He seems a bit unorganized or simply stops caring the second you put down a deposit. The second set of movers were pretty good but they damaged some of my furniture in the move. They just seemed like they wanted to get it over with. They even stopped at a gas station in the middle of the move, which was only 10 minutes down the road to my new place. They were also late to arrive, and we all know that time is money. They also tried to tack on some extra fees once it came down to paying, left a bad taste in my mouth for sure. I no longer recommend this company for moving, look elsewhere if you care at all about your belongings or want to work with an actual professional owner that cares about his crew and customers instead of collecting the bottom line. Thanks Chris!

I thought I left a review for this before, but it must have slipped my mind. I used this moving company back in the fall. Terrible experience and not actually that reasonably priced. The guys who showed up were several hours late, which is really awesome when you're trying to only take a half-day off work. They paid no attention to which boxes were labeled as "FRAGILE" and "DISHES" and were throwing them on top of each other. One of the guys literally dropped the box with dishes on the stairs--right in front of my aghast face--because he had stacked the boxes in such an unstable way. Luckily I had wrapped the dishes in many, many layers, so there wasn't damage, but the lack of care was awful. Right after this, they demanded a $100+ tip. Also, Chris is a nightmare to deal with. Super nice when you're booking a reservation, and then right after you're on the hook, his attitude completely changes. Unprofessional and rude, and judging from his past responses on this page, he's going to respond with personal attacks to this review.
- Kathy L.

These guys were right on time and so so so helpful with my move!! Did literally everything for me and didn't let me even lift a finger (which I loved)! So fun to talk to during the process and also helped me assemble furniture. I've moved 7 times over the past 6 years and this is one of the best experiences I've had with movers. Would recommend them to anyone!! 🙂
- Ashley B.

Shane and Demitrius were incredible! We were moving from a one bedroom to a new home, and they made it all look so easy. They rapidly disassembled, moved, and reassembled the furniture without any issues, and they were careful and thoughtful both with move-out and move-in. The two were very funny, and we enjoyed having them help us with our move. They certainly made the day a lot more fun than we were expecting! Chris was quick to respond to any phone call and called after our move was over to check in and see how it went. Communication was clear and concise. I strongly recommend the whole team over at 2 Young Studs Moving if you're looking for an efficient and entertaining move.

I've never written a negative review, but wanted to warn the public about this very inexperienced and unprofessional company. Christopher Monks was very nice until I called him about all the damage. He took no responsibility at all. This is the first time with 2 studs but the third time we hired a moving company to load a truck that we drove ourselves, and the only time we had any major damage. Dimitri, who did the actual moving, also knew full well that we needed to pack the truck to travel 1,000 miles, yet our items were packed with inexperience and just plain recklessness. Dimitri kept reassuring us, "don't worry, I got you. I know what I'm doing". Chris told me when I called him to report damage due to bad packing that Dimitri was his best. Wow! Dimitri bragged so much he had us fooled and unfortunately we over tipped him and his helper, $60 each on total bill of $340. Our regret. The unpacking movers on the other end that I hired for a third time were very professional. They said they had never seen any packing job as bad as ours from two studs. (They took pictures of how not to pack for their fb forum.) I have pictures of a metal box on top of a vintage wood table, with no padding though we provided plenty. Heavy dressers sitting on end with the drawers facing the wrong way so when we would brake the truck they banged open. And boxes stacked floor to ceiling with clearly marked boxes glass/fragile on bottom and cast iron pots on top. One of our couches has the wooden support broken because they hung it by the legs on the metal rail of the truck. Dimitri was more concerned with packing everything in tight than protecting our furniture and belongings. We already have a long list of sedamaged wood, broken beyond repair items and haven't even opened all the boxes marked fragile yet. Stay away from this company if you value your belongings.
- Linda S.

Nick and David are awesome! I received a referral to this company from my Associates at the Village Mariner's Point. Were it not for their strong referral I would never have used the service due to the owner's brusque manner! All I can say about Chris, the owner, is that he hired a great staff.
- Tommy Nicholas V.

Trust me go elsewhere. We paid $1350 for a 2 bedroom apartment going only 3 miles across town. Not only did they break our stuff but their "insurance" only covers $0.60 per pound. It doesn't matter what it cost you. If It weighs 10lbs you only get $6 no matter the cost. (See their policy attaches as a photo). Also they charge per hour and once they have it in the truck they have no incentive to work quickly. Hence why we paid so much. Most importantly, they refuse to take liability for damages their truck causes to property. We are paying close to $4k because of young stud damage to our apartment complex from the move and now the HOA is upset at us before moving in. Called The owner Chris who said "no video proof, no payment" and hung up the phone. Seriously, Go with professionals, or just hire some day laborers outside of Home Depot/U-Haul store to move the heavy stuff and drive the truck yourself. Going with middle ground (price and quality)you get the worst of both worlds, you pay a lot and you don't get any protection. 2 young studs is biggest mistake I've made in awhile. please go elsewhere and don't make the mistake I made. This is not a BS review, you can read my other ones.
- Reo Z.

Used 2 Young Studs for two moves between July and August. These guys really work fast and ensure things are not damaged. Our crews were Adam & Shane and Christian & Pete. Both crews were personable and got the job done without any complaints. Would recommend to anyone with moves in the tri-state area!
- Jordan P.

They showed up 6 hours late, which is typical for them, got here with NO moving equipment, they left without giving me back the spare key to my apartment which cost me $150 to replace and never returned my calls about the key, and in the end the bill was way more than they first told me. We were only moving from one floor to another in the same building. There were lots of other problems, all with the manager, not the workers, but I won't bore you with them. Soooooo unprofessional and frustrating. Avoid like the plague.
- C S.

We had an uneventful and 'pleasant move'. ( You notice the drudgery of your move when things start to go wrong.) Getting a quote was easy and I didn't have to spend a lot of time on the phone ironing out the details. There are no hidden fees and layered pricing structures. On the moving day, they gave us a call before they started to give us an update, arrived on time and got started. Our 2 bed apartment's move took about 7 hours. ( 3rd floor with no elevator at the source and a very finicky elevator at the destination.) What could have been much more frustrating went smoothly because everyone kept their cool and went on working.
- Archana P.

They were very efficient and moved our stuff from storage to the new house with care. They had masks on and followed all the COVID safety measures. I highly recommend them.
