Avoid them at all costs - bad quote/estimate, damaged furniture, and TERRIBLE customer service! Save yourself the headache and heartache and use another moving company...any other moving company would likely be better. We scheduled an appointment with a representative to visit our home in order for them to provide us with an accurate quote. We sold our house and were moving into our new house a day later, so we needed them to hold our belongings over night. We were given a quote and told that we would need one truck, with 3 workers for 4 hours to pack up our house. We prepped everything as they recommended (everything in our house was boxed up and wrapped, and all large pieces of furniture were left in each room). On the day of the move, the workers showed up over an hour late, but we quickly moved past their tardiness as we were excited for our move. They were excited to see all of the prep work we had done (they even commented on how great of a job we did getting everything boxed and wrapped). As they started packing the truck, I began to question if all of our belongings would fit - I asked the workers multiple times and I was assured multiple times that it would all fit. I mentioned my concern to my husband, who also mentioned it to the workers and again, they assured him multiple times that it was all fit. 4 hours later with a completely full truck, there were still items sitting in my living room. They began unpacking and repacking the truck, but the items still would not fit. My husband asked what they do in this situation, and they said that they would normally call for another truck, but this week they had no other trucks available, so we had to figure it out. We couldn't drop things off at the new house, because we couldn't get the keys until the next day. We ended up having to fill my SUV, my husband's SUV (and they attempted to remove the car seats from both of our vehicles, which they were aggravated that we made them leave the car seat in my car, but where were they thinking my 10 month old would sit?), two of our friends' SUVs, our realtor's car, and we dropped of a number of items at a friends house. At the end of the day they charged us for 6.5 hours to pack up the house (only quoted 4 hours), due to their packing and unpacking and repacking of the truck as a result of a bad quote/estimate. I understand that it is only an estimate, but 2.5 hours over and not being able to fit everything in one truck, is a very very big mistake. Upon delivery, they were visibly annoyed with us, and we can only imagine that it was from us spending a lot of time on the phone with their office and eventually the owner (who was incredibly rude and placed the blame on us for them giving us a bad estimate). They threw boxes, dragged furniture, and dropped items carelessly. All of the furniture in my daughters room (dresser, chest of drawers, glider chair, mirror, crib, and nightstand) all have significantly visible damage. Many other pieces of furniture throughout our house have significant damage as well (master bedroom headboard, nightstands, dresser, and dining room table, just to name a few). The damage to the furniture in my daughters room was specifically upsetting as it was, at the time, less than a year old (bought it all right before my daughter was born, and she was only 10 months old at the time of our move).

This company lives up to its mission statement. To provide a quick and stress free move. The office agents Garland and Jonathan were a pleasure to work with. They were always available to trouble shoot any issues and very professional. On the move day the crew showed up 10 minutes early and was ready to work. They were very efficient, but took great care with our belongings. We were on a very tight timeline and they made sure it was followed. Overall I would recommend this company to anyone looking for excellence.

This is the 2nd time I have used them to help me move... I refused to go anywhere else. Much like the first time these guys were amazing. Chris Steve and Alvin were on time professional courteous quick and treated my belongings as of they were their own. They were in and out of both apartments on time and never went over the quoted time. I truly enjoyed the moving experience (which most of you know how much of a pain moving can be) thanks to these guys. Id recommend them over and over again and would def have them help me again on my next move! Thanks again guys for all your hard work!!!

I wish I could give then ZERO stars!!! After storing my furniture for a year, when they came to deliver it to our new home it was damaged! Blue and black marks all over the furniture and many pieces were broken. We were told they would send out someone to repair it. It's been 3 weeks and nobody has come to repair our furniture. I cannot even get them to return my calls. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! HORRIBLE experience.

If you ae looking for a moving company that will handle your furnishings with care I would suggest you keep looking! Even worse when they damage items they accept no responsibility at all except to defer to the .60 per pound insurance. Should you decide to move forward with this company I strongly urge you to take out additional insurance. I had many items damaged; however, the furniture damage was extensive. I had to take pictures and send them in to their insurance company. I then had to schedule time for an adjuster to come out and look at each of the damaged pieces. The company offered to give me $250.00 (which is already an admission that damage was done) which doesn't begin to cover the repair costs. Their very own adjustor provided a bid in writing which I provided to the company at just over $3,000.00 to repair the furniture. This included a large dent in the dining room table, (2) living room chairs that looked like they were dragged across gravel removing the finish on the legs, a dining room hutch had a piece broken off, kitchen chairs with several legs damaged, a desk with a chuck out of one leg, a sleigh with a gouge in the side and multiple other nicks, scratches, gouges, etc...... The company said this was all within the normal realm of damage in any move??? While I do not expect perfection in a move I have moved many times over the years and this was not close to the normal damage one would expect or accept. I had no expectation that the company would pay for the full repairs at over $3000.00; however, I would expect they meet me halfway. This has not yet been the case and they offer $250.00 based upon weight at .60 per pound. The dining room table alone weighs more than what that calculates out to. They didn't bring a big scale to weigh all the furniture so not quite sure how they arrived at 416 pounds. I will continue to post reviews at all available sites and my best advice here is 'buyer beware"!!

Used this company to move our house the end of September. Worst mistake. Broken items, arguing between themselves, one guy was hungover and useless so the job took about 3 hours too long. Called into the owner. Was absolutely no help. Offered me 100.00 refund which is a joke. I told him to keep it. Bad reviews are worth more. BUYER BEWARE!

The movers were fast, but they damaged my new house and passed it off like the insurance company would cover the damage. Gouged the corner so badly it dented the metal corner piece of the drywall. I look at this on a daily basis and get more frustrated each day. The new bedroom dresser has gouges on all sides, a marble table top 2x3 ft long has a big chunk missing off the top, most likely where the damage from the drywall came from. The claim was filed in a timely fashion, per the instructions with pictures and I can't get a response from the crappie insurance company they use. Would not recommend this company as this is who they choose to do business with. It has been over 90 days and there has been no resolution from 1776 or the fly by night insurance company. UPDATE The repairs were all completed without any hesitation. Communication breakdown initially. The repairman was an expert and you could not tell where anyhing was damaged, would not hesitate to call these guys again! Thank you for a job well done

Stay away! The team was late, inefficient, and unprofessional. I had to babysit them the entire time to ensure the move was completed in a reasonable amount of time. When I called to discuss my disappointing experience with the management team, they just didn't care. I had used them before a few years ago for a move, and they were great, so decided to use again. They must have gone through a major staffing change because this was a complete 180. I've never written a Yelp review before, but after this experience, I want to get the word out with the hope that others don't share the experience I had (especially on a day that is already stressful enough!)!

I had a bad experience with this company I recommend do not use! Because they told me and my wife they was going to assemble our bed and couldn't do it! And the dispatcher and sales person was very rude!

This is my second time using 1776 Moving and Storage and I am still just as happy with them as the last time! They wrap everything and are very efficient with their time. They make moving a breeze, which is helpful since moving can be a stressful time. Highly recommend, and I will use them the next time I move!

Alvin, Jared and Kevin were fast, careful and pleasant during our move. There was a mix up with the time (we were supposed to start at 10 am since we couldn't pick up our apartment keys until the afternoon and they were in-transit for an 8:30 am start) but they accommodated the mix up and waited so that we were not charged the extra hour and a half. They finished on schedule and the pricing was reasonable. Would definitely use them again!

After a year being out of our home from Hurricane Irma 1776 Movers returned our goods. Before they would unload they made me pay them and sign that everything was ok. Well it was not. They charged me $2,900 in packing supplies but when they returned the boxes they had recycled boxes from a move to Alaqua Every closet had their clothes dumped into a large box. Not hung in a garment box but dumped hangers and all. Broken furniture, destroyed antiques, stolen property, and clothes damaged. After filing a claim and the adjuster shaking his head at what they had done they offered us $260.00. This is a bad company and a bad operator. Run don't walk from these people

First - they were able to accommodate my move on short notice when another plan fell through - so that was great. The guys were right on time, and carefully wrapped the antiques, mirrors and art. The move was very smooth, and actually took less time than the estimate. As we all know, moving is hard.....so you need a great team!

The company came to our home for a estimate that we accepted. From that point we had the absolutely best service Alvin,Franklin and Dave were at our home exactly the time stated, took apart everything, loaded it and traveled 2 hrs from Orlando unloaded, and put back together. Everything was perfect with exceptional service! I highly recommend this company! If I could give more stars I would!!!

I can not recommend this company because they did nothing to address the issues I had with the move after I contacted them.This was a very bad moving experience for us. Our dining room table had one of the legs broken, our large picture had the glass broken, hardware to put our bed together was lost, and they could not put our desk or bed back together. My husband and I were left to buy bolts and put the bed together, and thankfully my daughter and her husband helped with my husband's desk. I had the table repaired, but now I have to find help to turn it right side up as it is upside down where they had to leave it in the dining area. Our furniture was moved from N.Y. to Florida and from South Florida to Celebration with no problems, but with a 20 mile move it was beat up. I think the main problem was that they needed to send a more experienced crew. They tried, but should have been separated into different moving crews. This was moving from a small one story home to another one story home. I went with this company based on my daughter's past experience with them for 2 moves, but she said after seeing what happened with us she would never use them again. Then only response from the company was to file a claim for insurance. I have owned companies and it is important to make things right for the customer. Sadly, it didn't seem like they cared.

We moved from Orlando to Groveland, used 2 trucks and 4 guys, and they were great. Very professional and efficient, wrapped everything up in blankets. Did not bump a single doorway or wall, put everything where we asked. I would DEFINITELY recommend them and use them again.

1776 did a great job. Kelly was very friendly with getting the move set up and helped with securing the preferred moving time. They also had the lowest rates of all the companies I contacted. Franklin, Steve and Desmond were the crew and they were professional and very hard working and they got the job done in an hour quicker than quoted. Would recommend and use them again in the future.
